  • He doesn't write the info. down

People are always calling the library for NADA/Kelley Blue Book Guide info. Those 2 books will tell you how much a car can be sold/bought, trade-in value and loan value.

    Me:
    NBD: Nice but dumb customer
    stuff in italics: sidenotes

NBD: hi, can I have the NADA value of a car? It's a 1989 Blah truck, with 155,000 miles
100% of the people who call for value of a car asks for NADA or Kelley Blue Book; no doubt someone told them to look in such books. Even though they know the name some seem clueless about the usefulness of the information
Me: Ok, one moment as I get the book
NADA is online, but I like using the book. And there are 2 books, one for newer and one for older; lucky me, 1989 is the oldest year the old book has info. on
Me: Ok, is it a DX or a YX?
NBD: Uh, I don't know, can you give me both?
Me: For the DX, trade in is 1,900, loan is 1,200 and retail is 2,482. For YX trade in is 1,500, loan is 1,000 and retail is 2,000. You don't add for milage for either of them.
I'm omiting the exact details, so no one should tell me no truck would be a YX
NBD: ok, so loan is more than trade?
Me: no, loan is the smallest amt.
NBD: Yeah, I'm buying the truck from this guy, and it looks nice, and he's selling it for $1,500...
Me: I'm sorry sir, I can't give you advice on if you should buy it.
NBD: So retail for DX is $2,000?
Me: No. Were you not writting this down? This is important information.
NBD: Uh, no, I didn't write the numbers down.
Me: Well, you shouldn't call us if you are not going to write down the information
    NBD: Uh, ok, thanks. Bye.

I don't know why people call if they are not going to write down the info. What happens when he gets back to the guy, he won't remember if it was cheaper or more expensive according to the guide. Maybe he expect me to say "Wow sir, according to the guide that truck is a must buy!"

Writing stuff down means he would have to use the lump of meat between his ears. We all know it's too much work for SCs to use it. We have to act as replacements for said lump.

Now that was a really silly expectation on your part.

If he wrote the information down, that would mean he eventually would have to READ it.
We all know SC's don't read - especially if it is important information - and even if they do glance at something, all they are able to read is the word "free".

Hey, Nada means "nothing" in Spanish! It's a small world.

Nada is originally Latin, and is common in Spanish, especially as part of the phrase "de nada" which literally translates to "of nothing." It's also fairly common in English, too, especially when people are emphasizing that there is "nothing, nada, zip, zilch, zippo..."

Oh, and the Kelley Blue Book is online, too. I use it every so often.

                  So is hebrew originally latin

I forgot one detail of the story; there was also a FX model. I figured, if he found out he had an FX model, he would call back. Like other people stated, when you give a customer too much info. they kind of blank out (more). Last thing I felt like is repeating several times the values of a DX, YX and and FX. I did repeat the retail values before I got short on him, though.

I don't always write something down. But then again it comes down to what I am calling about.

                      No it doesn't. http://www.milon.co.il/general/general.php?term=nothing

Hebrew isn't a latin based language so is unlikely to have very many words that are latin based unless they're the more modern sciency words. I don't remember enough biblical hebrew to know if it might be there but it's not in modern hebrew.
