There's a guy that comes in -all time- I know him, he's usually pretty cool... but today...
He gets two lanes. On for him and one for his kid. Well the time on the lanes ended when they were in about the 8th frame... ok no problem we can give him a couple extra minutes to at least finish the game.
Well he comes to the counter and tell me, but he's talking over 4 other people and I barely hear him. So I take care of the other customers in front of him, and then can't remember what he said.
I then have to run out from behind the counter, because we're short a concourse guy so I have to help with with some things (like putting up bumpers). No biggie. He walks up to my coworker at the desk, and does they same thing... He tries to talk over 3 other people, and my coworker says "ok", but obviuosuly it's gonna be a minute...
Now, some background:
I was out putting up bumpers... in order to do this I have to carry the "bumper stick", which is what we use to lift them up. It's a piece of solid iron rebar, with a piece of rubber on it for a handle... it weighs a good 5 or 6 pounds.
This guy come up, and -touches my shoulder-, from behind, where I can't see him. I gripped down on the bumper stick and shot him a look that basically said "you're about to lose that hand". He then tells me again, I told him to tell my coworker at the desk.
Him: "I did, but he seems to be busy."
Me: "Well, I am too, it's just gonna be a minute."
By the time I got back to the desk (maybe a minute later). My coworker had already gotten the lanes back up... but the guy was gone.
This whole thing happened over the course of about 3 minutes...
Really man, I know you're a regular, but we got busy, we had 2 parties come in at once, and have to help other customers too... just because you have some fancy credit card that shows you're rich doesn't mean you jump to the front of the line...
There's only 2 of us, give us a minute.
