Well since the drama is all over I can post this one.
At my home store we have a stock guy who is Asian. His race is only mentioned because it pertains to the issue. He is originally from Cambodia, his first name is Fincoon.
(I posted his name with his permission).
Well I guess they paged him for assistance and a woman became offened by his name she thought it was a racial slur. (Note, this lady is white.) She reamed the M.O.D. about what a "racist" company this was and how dare he use such a word, all the while MOD is trying to explain to her that this is this is this guys name, the one his parents gave him 20 years ago when he was born. She ignores poor Fincoon standing by her and storms out.
Low and behold the next week we get a certified letter from the civil rights comission stating they are starting an investigation into our store based or racial slurs being used on the loud speakers. Investigator comes and does his thing he clears us of all issues due to the fact that IT IS HIS NAME!!!! Numerous witness cleared us. Think it's over......nah
Slur lady returns to the store the same day we get our letter clearing us, she has her letter and throws a hissy fit in the store and says that That boy should change his name 'cuase he's in America now and he should have an american name, one that is not so racist. Yeah we got extra pleasure in booting her out of the store. On a side note he did offer to go by a different name, District Manager told him HELL NO, your Mom and ad gave you that for a reason, why should some idiot stop you.
