Man, that is just stupid, over an Elmo doll. The victim sounds like a decent guy, he gave away one of the two he had. Weird, man, Weird.

It's not even October yet, and we've already recieved and put up a huge display of pointlessly overblown and cheesy halloween stuff...
Sadly, a friend of mine recently told me that the last time she was in the local K-Mart, they already had their CHRISTMAS stuff out.

It was bad enough when they started doing that after Halloween, instead of after Thanksgiving, but here it is still September and they have freakin' Christmas stuff out? What the hell?

I noticed a bunch of Christmas displays up at Costco, it's getting pathetic.

We started putting the Christmas stuff out in our store. We don't have room to keep it it back with all the crap they're going to send us over the next month. We dont have any decorations or things like that out yet, all they've sent us are the gift items, so we put it all out and set up the display over the weekend.

Whoever decides when to send the seasonal stuff out is doing a better job than last year. We got our Chirstmas candy first last year. Not this early, but it was still messed up. Candy is the last thing we put out, we cant put it on the floor until after Halloween, so we were stuck with it taking up sapce in our backroom for almost a month before we could get it out of the way.

I never played Dodgeball in school (I was always the one that nobody wanted on their team) and sat on the sidelines, wishing to be elsewhere while everyone else played.

And I still ended up in retail.
As far as I can recall, in most situations, all kids were picked, I was just always the last, or one of the last. So, I can relate.

I may have been happier actually, to sit on the sidelines, because I was always afraid of being hit by the ball in the various games.

Well, we just started putting our Christmas stuff last week and I would have thought that was really early. Well, we have a small gift/card shop (it's a national chain) next door and the employees often come in our store to get snacks on their break. Anyway one hot July day I was working as usually and the gift shop manager comes in to get her a snack. As I was ringing her up she told me she was putting up their Christmas things that day and she needed a break from that. I was like wow this seems a little early to do that and I said something about that. I even asked about back-to-school stuff and she said they have a few things but I guess Christmas is the major one.

Someone called the store yesterday asking for the new Elmo and she was mad that we didn't even have our toys in. We only carry toys at Christmas time, but I told her that we should be getting them and we'll probably carry the new Elmo. She said she had been calling every store for the new Elmo and no one had the stupid toy.

We have a lot of our Christmas stuff already out in home fashions and the manager in seasonal told me that they have to have the Christmas trees and decor out by Oct. 20.

I actually heard my first christmas carol of the year this past weekend. Talk about annoying.

When the original Elmos first came out during the christmas season, I got kicked out of both toy stores in the mall for tickling all of them at roughly the same time. One display toppled over from all the shaking. I offered to help them but it away, but the manager just laughed at me (he was a cool guy) and told me to get out and not comeback till the new year

I just read an article regarding T M X - Tickle Me Elmo - 10th year edition or anniversary - whatever. The X stands for the tenth year and extreme! I was reading about how it's already sold out in most places and I immediately thought of this website and the stories I may read regarding SCs and extreme Elmos. Anyone run into this yet or have any related type of stories. I know I have seen a few on here before but I just thought if there were others, they are great to read!

Hear about the guy who threatened to kill a fellow customer unless he gave him his doll?

I like Christmas. I like almost everything about Christmas. BUT!

One of my very first jobs ever (not counting paper routes) was at a clothing store in a mall. That little store was great, but it also happened to be located right in front of the Santa show. Which went on....forever!

People wonder why I hate Christmas carols!

Yeesh, that's an ugly doll. What's with the huge eyes? Who designed this doll, Margaret Keane?
That thing is creepy....thats the kind of doll you half expect to wake up to in the middle of the night lording over you with a steak knife. You know, like Chucky, only blond and pink.

I once hit the "try me" switches on all the Elmos at once (Hokey Pokey, Limbo, Chicken Dance etc) at a toy store last holiday. The most amusing thing is that my dad helped me. Some customers actually fled

I always felt that people who pressed all the switches on the talking toys at the same time, were sucky customers.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.
