Had three cases of fake notes; one was just hilarious, tho. That one was a woman who handed me a Monopoly note. Not on purpose tho, her son had been playing with her purse and had stuffed in some Monopoly money among the real notes.
We both had a good laugh, and I waited while she emptied her purse out looking for the real money with which to pay.
The first time I saw a fake was working at the pizza place. This guy ordered a large Hawaiin pizza and cheesy garlic bread. He handed me a twenty with which to pay. I checked it and it had no water mark and no straight/dotted line. I told him I could not accept it. He asked for it back. I said I could not do that. He exploded. I was glad of the thick bank of tills between us, and told him to leave. He said if I didn't give him his fake back, he'd call the police. I told him to go right ahead and do so. He left, swearing at me over his shoulder; I then called my boss and told him everything. He came back to the shop and we shared the pizza between us and the driver.
I believe he still has the fake note pinned to his office pinboard.
The last one was in my current job, but was a bit sad. I took the twenty from an old lady, who was upset about it, but I knew I could not give it back. I called over a supervisor, who confirmed this.
I really felt sorry for her, as it probably was a big portion of her pension money.
