so a guest comes to check in and she is real cranky

Guest: (real cranky and demanding): meal planning

    I just look at her

Me: are you deaf? I want you to customize a meal plan for me

I go go to give her a welcome packet

Guest: I already got one of those....I want you to help me prepare a meal plan for the week

    Me: ok

Guest: where do I go for breakfast?

Me: the nearest place is four miles off the island

Guest: oh no, I am not going off the island for breakfast

Me: well we have a grocery store you can go to right here

Guest: You know I should have been told I'd have to go off the island for breakfast when I booked here. I'd like someone to go each morning and get breakfast and serve it to me in the villa

me: we cant do that ma'am

Guest: oh yes you can and you will

Me: I am sorry, its not possible

Guest: (she turns to her husband who had just walked in) Lloyd, he says we have to leave the island for breakfast

    Lloyd: un f__ing acceptable

Lloyd flew into a rage and demanded we deliver his breakfast.....the manager didnt cave in to that but he got money back because get this the wife sat on the deck furniture after it rained and got wet

Does it say in your pamphlets/website that you serve meals on the premesis? If not, why do these folks think you do? Why are they demanding breakfast in house?

Granted, many hotels have restaurants attached, and most have something within walking distance, but you can't assume that EVERY hotel/motel/rental does. (Of course, we all know what happens when you assume things...) These guests didn't think things through, and you're the one getting yelled at.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

Then you don't get any coffee.

What a bunch of entitlement whores, and stupid ones at that. I bet they also go into the grocery store during a storm and complain that all the shopping carts are wet . . .

Damn you, you made me break the first rule. And I am in love with Michael Emerson, thank you.

But seriously, I hope that manager still isn't there, from the looks of it he refunds for the slightest issue, your company must not be making any money.

These people seem to think they are staying in a five-star hotel and not a five-star time share. Maybe they're used to someone bringing them breakfast every morning? If that's something they're used to, they can afford to arrange a service to bring it hot to the cabin every morning and hang the cost. Paying extra cash beyond their daily expenses (which would probably equate with my monthly) seems like it's the equivalent of filleting dolphins to them.

VRS, your job seems to be a magnet for EW's. I'm happy this time the manager didnt' cater to their majesties demands. What the hell is so hard about driving a few miles down for some breakfast?!!

I think the OP has the worst customers/management of any of us on this forum. And that's saying a lot -_-

                        um, WHY

and how was this -sitting on outside stuff after rain and getting all wet NOT a forgone conclusion?

What how were y'all to prevent it?

Considering the demeanor of that woman, getting wet could've easily resulted in at the very least a partial melting.

I don't understand how the manager can keep giving money back. I thought the properties were owned, then rented out by the OP's company for the owners and the owners got part of the rental paid.

Or is it part full-time and part time-share ownership?
