    slightly off topic, but a quick question, does the christian fish have an official name? i feel silly calling it Jesus fish, or christian fish.

      I think most people call it an ichthys (I believe it's pronounced ick thiss (soft th like thumb)). If you use the term the people who are interested in it should know what it is.

        My first thought at "cross with a halo" was the Celtic cross- the cross with a circle centered over teh intersection. That one, IIRC is another go at eternity. Don't know what it might mean to random Celts and Druids.

        Never knew the meanings of an ankh- I am that one in a million girl that is 1) unfond of purple 2) not even a little horse crazy and 3) patently uninterested in Egyptology beyond Shiny! (well, ok, post Fatimid)
