Small bit of background. For those who do not know, I work in a call center for a prepaid cellular service.

SC: Hi Chanlin, how are you today?
Me: Good sir, and yourself?
SC: I'd be better, but I just got off the line with one of your coworkers and he was the rudest men I have ever spoken with.
Me: Well I do apologize for that sir, what can *I* help you out with today?
SC: Well, I purchased this phone in Ohio, and I've moved to North Carolina. I tried calling a year ago, and was told then I would have to return to the dealer in Ohio to do anything with the phone....
Me: ...
SC: ...
Me: Ok... So you want to have the number changed to a North Carolina number?
SC: Yes.
Me: Ok, you said you called this in a year ago. Have you been maintaining the account by adding airtime to it?
SC: No I haven't.
Me: Ok, it more than likely is not active any more, which won't be a problem we can activate a new number for you. You will need to purchase airtime to get the account going however.
SC: Ok, well since its not active now could I have it activated with another provider instead?
Me: If that is what you want to do yes. You would just need to contact that provider.
SC: Ok, well what is the number for <a direct competitor of your company>
Me: I'm sorry sir I don't have that information.
SC: This is unf***ingbelieveable does no one there know what they are doing. The last rep wouldn't help me either and now you won't. Are you F***ing incompetent or something.
Me: Sir, you are asking me to provide you a phone number for a company that is a direct competitor of ours. I can give you any phone number you want related to our company, but for another company thats not information that I have to give you, I'm sorry.
SC: Well you've just lost my business. *click*
Well that is rather comforting considering since all you did was buy a phone from us and never use it, we never really had your business to begin with.
How can I help you =/= Say my name
Me: Hi, thank you for calling <the company I work for> this is Chanlin speaking how can I help you.
SD: (in a very tin can echo, that one where you know they have you on speaker phone, I can hear loud noise in the background too) Chanlin?
Me: Yes, how can I help you?
SD: Chanlin....
Me: Yes?
SD: Chanlin....
Me: Can you hear me?
SD: Of course I can hear you, I was asking your name.
Me: Ok, my name is Chanlin. How can I help you out today?
SD: Chanlin...
Me: Yes thats right, how can I help you?
SD: Chanlin....
*we go around like this for about a minute and a half or so until the dealer finally hangs up with nothing accomplished*
