Firstly, may I just say I hate people who assume that because they came in a few days ago every staff member has been primed to wait for them and know exactly what they want.
Do try not to blame me for your stupidity
w= woman
m= me.
W: I want new lenses in this.
M: A reglaze?
W: Yes.
M: Ok, can I see your prescription.
*W hands me a bit of paper. It's a receipt.*
M: Sorry, this doesn't tell me your prescription.
*W huffs, fumbles around in bag for a bit and brings out prescription.*
Now, a bit of backstory. This prescription has two prescriptions on it, one for distance vision, one for reading.
Me: Is this Varifocal, or Single Vision.
W: Varifocal.
M: Ok then
*off I toddle to do a price quote*
M: £167.
w: That's not right, I was qouted £88 before!
M: Oh, that must have been for a single vision lens (which is why I asked if you wanted Varifocal!) WOuld you rather have distance or reading?
W: I want both!
Me: that would be a bifocal, or varifocal, which would cost more.
*repeat for at least five minutes*
W: I don't understand!
M *clearly, no* explain the principles of different prescriptions for distance and reading*
W: *Doesn't understand*
M: *repeat ad nauseum*
Long story short, she gets extremely angry with me, because SHE doens't understand that you CANNOT HAVE both nreading and distance in her glasses without paying more, jabs at the prescription and shouts 'Just give me that' rather than telling me which she uses more.
