Had a woman last night who wanted to return a backpack she said her kid didn't need.
Three problems.
1) No receipt (of course)
2) This pack back was from last year, as evidenced by the fact that it rang in at a clearance price of $1.50. The original price was $30, and the price history clearly showed that it had been on clearance for over a year, since the last BTS season.
3) She said she paid cash.
She claimed that she bought it THIS year for $30. Even after the MOD called bullshit and SHOWED her that it had been on clearance for longer than that and that he'd need a receipt to prove her claim, she still insisted that she'd "just gotten it" and that she should get a $30 refund.
MOD refuses. Says he can issue a store credit only for $1.50.
SC: Can't you give me a store credit for $30?
MOD: Ma'am, without a receipt to indicate the price you paid, I can only issue a credit for the current price, which is $1.50. The system does not allow me to override that. If you'd like, I'll give you a $25 Courtesy Coupon you can use in the store. [That was overly generous; she was in no way entitled to such a courtesy].
SC: No, I think I'll just leave. And I don't think I'll be shopping here again.
MOD (VERY disingenuously): I'm sorry to hear that.
Bonus points to whomever can figure out where my thread title comes from.
