Gah, I hate hate hate Entitlement Whores
Got a good one today... we have signs at the front desk clearly stating that all shuttles are by reservation only... now if there is a space on the shuttle we'll bend that rule and let you on... however, if it's full... guess what, no shuttle for you. So of course I get this call at 6:15
Me- front desk, how may I help you?
EW- yeah, when's the next shuttle?
Me- the next shuttle with space on it will be at 8am.
EW- what, I thought they ran every half hour.
Me- yes they do, but 6:30, 7, and 7:30 already have all their space reserved.
EW- well, my flights at 7:15 so I absolutely must be on the 6:30 shuttle (side note... you aint making your flight anyway)
Me- well, there are 2 children on the shuttle, if their parents agree to let them share a seat we may be able to squeeze you in (really bending the rules there, but it will get me off the phone)
EW- wait, if they agree. just tell them that their kids have to share a seat.
Me- I'm sorry, but that is a decision the parent has to make. And even if they do agree to it, it is the shuttle driver's ultimate decision on whether or not to allow additional passengers on the van.
EW- well if there isn't space you can just pay for my cab.
Me- if you had reserved space and we overbooked, yes we would, but you did not reserve space so if you chose to take a cab before the next available schedule it would be your responsibility to pay the cab, not ours (and the cabbies know to never take a guests word that we're paying for it... they confirm with us).
EW- well if it makes any difference, I'm a local celebrity in Arizona.
Me- and I've never heard of you... so that doesn't help much.
EW- fine I'll be there at 6:30, those parents had better agree to have their kids share a seat.
and the part that pissed me off... the parents agreed to it... so this guy got exactly what he wanted out of being an entitlement whore
