Seriously, if you don't have a supply of
handy, leave now. You have been warned.
First off, eBay has recently started offering phone support for everyone, not just power sellers. I'm not in that department, but I get to help them out when they have questions since they sometimes deal with the crap that we remove from the site. This will become relevant shortly.
Second, I haven't been dealing directly with the sellers for the past week or so (for various reasons
), but I still deal with reviewing/ending the listings and other crap they try to pull. While I mainly deal with counterfeits and unauthorized copies, I also help out with Prohibited Items (drugs, guns, porn, etc.) when needed. As you can probably guess, this post deals with the prohibited stuff I've seen (just this week).
WTF?
Bestiality. There are multiple definitions of this word, and what I deal with is the worst one. I will not explain it further. If you don't know what this is, leave this thread now, it will only get worse and you should keep what remains of your innocence intact.
This is one of the things that will get you a 'no questions asked' suspension, either a 14 day or permanent one, depending on what was actually in the listing. I have had to suspend 2 different accounts in the past week for this, one of them was just yesterday.
Today, I was talking with a coworker on our phone team. It seems that the seller called in to find out why they were suspended. Now keep in mind that this is Utah... We have had to explain to people on multiple occassions what some of the slang and other terms are that we occassionally see, for example, what a "MILF" is as it's one of the more common terms we encounter.
Now, imagine this poor phone rep that's been trained to deal with standard issues such as people selling counterfeits, stealing images, hitting various account/item blocks, billing issues, etc. (you know, run of the mill stuff), suddenly having to explain to someone over the phone why we don't allow bestiality.
HOLY HELL WHY WOULD YOU LIST THAT?!?!?!?
The rest of this one will be white on white. Don't read if you don't want to risk losing your appetite.
We do not allow human body parts on the site except for medical use skeletons.
Someone actually listed this: foreskin that had been removed, as in, circumcision. We're not talking about mummified remains here, we're talking about freshly cut, still bloody chunks of flesh... and they included closeup pictures of it.
And of course this happened today, right before lunch...
I need lots of booze and brain bleach!
