Wow, what ignorant unprofessional jerks! How in the world did you keep your cool and not fly off the handle when they were trying to act all high and mighty! You would have every right to be a nasty SC in this instance but you still took the high road over these so called "employees."

I would have definitely talked to the manager over their attitude, and it's people like this that deserve all the SC's in the world.

well kibbles, I wasnt exactly daisy sunshine myself by the end of the exchange, I wasnt nasty in what I said but my tone wasnt light. Im not a push over, but now that I work for a state-funded business, I had to sign a form promising that none of my actions (at work or otherwise) would be unprofessional.... I cant do anything that could have a negative effect if those ladies decided to come into the gallery

plus getting all angry and snarky back wouldnt have done anything, the lady was fairly jaded and snotty anyway, water off a ducks back. If this site has taught me anything, being a sucky customer is not so much what you want to happen, but how you act, me getting nasty and screaming would have only made her dig in her toes more. After 8 years in retail Im not about to act towards someone how I hate to be acted towards myself.

For all I know, her boss might be the kind who doesnt care and leaves her employees to be the beating sticks of her own actions. Most employees arent jaded and snotty right off the bat, just like most customers arent sucky off the bat. The employee might be stuck between a rock and a hard place, and fed up with it. Is that my problem, no, but do I understand how that feels... oh hell yes.

Im going to see if the bra breaks again, if it doesnt, as far as im concerned, case closed.

If it does then I will go in and demand a refund, even if as Ree said, Im not legally entitled to one, as politely and professionally as I can and like the woman said, she'll cave. Its a small town, people simply cant afford unhappy customers around here. Im going to check out the better business people, I think the no refunds if for hyigene reasons (so people dont change their mind) I pretty sure if you give the buisness a chance to repair/replace and its still faulty then you can get a refund.

by the way, kudos to all of the liberated woman out there, the bra itself is outstanding and feels like Im wearing nothing at all. Well worth the money if the damn thing actually works this time.

to my bras: those who keep me from flopping about when I need to run or ride or whatever!

Good luck on the shop thing, I'd be seriously embarrassed if I acted that way to one of my customers, regardless of whether there was a provocation or not.

          As a side:
I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum to the braless crowd. I'm not wearing one right now and it's seriously bugging me. I hate the feel of shirt material. UGH! Bras are stationary and protect me from the evil shirt material.
I hate NOT wearing one. *runs off to find bra*
I'm not bothered by shirt material, but prefer to have the support (and I'm not all that big). [just went into bedroom and got dressed while reading this thread. I just got up not long ago]

seems to me that the shop has a sucky attitude. the clerks blow you off and the manager doesn't call back as promised.

Honestly it all does depend on how you approached them...but to their defense it sounds as if they have had to deal with this quite a bit...Seems like the owner lays all responsibility on them. I to would be annoyed but NO they should not be rude to you especially if you were not to them. If you knew that you could not get a refund well then do not ask BUT if I bought a 100.00 bra I to would want some compensation if it broke the first time I put it on...I am sure they have to deal with individuals purchases that are brought back that have been of course more than just tried on. Most place do not accept any type of returns on undergarments so in a way cosider yourself lucky and hit a wal-mart next time!

And I feel guilty for what I pay at Victoria's Secret Seriously, though, if it's worth the $100 (and Lord knows, I would pay twice that if only I could find a comfortable sports bra that would put up with my training!), it shouldn't need repairing! They're knowingly selling a defective product - surely there's a law against that somewhere?

I think if it's a new item, that you just bought and it breaks straight away it should be replaced not repaired. Same thing happened to my sister in law with a new fridge she bought. It was delivered and less than 24 hours later she came home to find that it had stopped working. She rang up the store and told them the problem and they actually admitted that it was probably damaged in transit and that they would send someone in the next few days to fix it. Not to replace it, but to fix it! She argued with them saying how unfair it was and that she paid money for a new fridge, not a secondhand one that had to be fixed basically right when she got it. They refused. She ended up having to exchange it for a better model and pay the difference, that's all they would do for her.

One would think that, but having done returns for a number of years, I can tell you that many companies will not honour warranties in that way.

I still have a gas-powered weed trimmer under my desk that has been sitting there since July. It was brand new, so they gave the customer a new one, but the company will not give me any type of credit. I have to get it repaired.

We can't sell a used item; they won't take it back; we are screwed.
We tried to do right by the customer and the manufacturer will not back us up.

Our large appliances are the same. People want us to just give them a new one, which would be great if we could. The appliance companies will simply not allow warranties like that.
We can give the customer a new one, but then we are stuck with a used, repaired appliance that we can't sell.

Unfortunately, repair is the only option that is financially feasible for many stores on certain items.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.

Wow. Just wow. $100 for a bra. It better be made of silk and gold with lots of diamonds on the straps.

It always amazes me what companies can do over in the US.

The UK laws are very much different. If you buy something from a store, the contract for goods of merchantable quality are between you and the store - not the manufacturer. If the goods prove defective within a reasonable period - none of this store policy of fourteen days etc - you are entitled to a refund or replacement.

So, bearing that in mind, GIFs?

To me the no refunds is more for changing your mind, if the product is faulty then you should be able to get a refund. I dont know what the law is here in BC but Ill check it out.

Plus... if I have to go in again, I will come in when the OWNER is actually in the store so I dont have to deal with the employees again and they dont have to deal with me.

But, I didnt even want a refund in the first place, I just wanted it replaced, the only reason I want one now is so I dont have to ever deal with them again.

I wore it tonight and it hasnt broken yet.... thank god.

and no raps, you are not getting a picture
