  • You work for the comapny how do you not know how things work

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I think they count as customers.

Anyway today about 3:30 I had two women come in as I was on till. When they got to me they asked for their staff discount (They didn't work in the same shop as me but we have a few clustered together) unfortunatly only managers can put the discount through on the till. however as it was sunday we only had one manager in and she was busy in the back and couldn't just leave what she was doing. So I let her know the women were waiting and let them know that she would be down as soon as possible. Bu after about 2-3 minutes they were complaining about having to wait (Some customers wait for much longer for things quite happily) eventually they decided to leave and as they were leaveing threatened to report my manager for not dropping what she was doing to come straight down and deal with them (Something she couldn't have doe anyway and if she had could have been in worse trouble.)

Store1 does that (the district manager decided on the policy; Store2 is in a different district and doesn't have that rule). A manager or supervisor has to do employee purchases (actually, it's really only employees that work in that store but some people don't seem to understand that. Or they don't know how to do the discount...). Either way I am always prepared to wait if I have to.

I'm always surprised when retail people act like fuckwads.

You know what it's like to deal with assholes all day, surely you could swing not being one yourself, right? Guess not.
Excuse me, good sir paladin, can you direct me to your EVIL district?

May depend on what type of retail store they come from. I notice that some people who work in higher-end retail stores where the prices give most people heart attacks can act very snobby themselves. And it does not help if they get commission that let them earn a lot more than most retail folk.

I have seen the reaction myself walking into some computer store or travel agencies for my personal needs or stores when I come to service their equipment (I refuse to wear suit and tie if I am going to be servicing laser printers). Their expression usually quickly change after i ask a question or two when they realize clothes really don't make the man, but the first reaction as I walk in is very clear.

Their loss, I tend to buy my high-end chips/clothes/shoes/trips from the store where they at-least have the brain to look interested in me as I walk in.
