Do they watch the Detroit Lions lose their 752,495th consecutive football game?
Oh, Lions. How I love thee...

How I wish we actually had a decent team. Watching your city's team get their butts kicked 47-10 is not a fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

I get to wake up early tomorrow to go to the Meijer I used to work at and get a Wii. What a joyous occasion that will be

Come now, only four more games until their perfect season is complete!

I'll be waking up early to go to GameStop myself, hopefully I'll find some sweet deals.

          What an accomplishment. Seriously.

At least we have decent hockey and basketball teams. My dad gets to go to a suite in the Palace to watch the Pistons tomorrow with some co-workers. Lucky jerk.

I haven't had any Wiis in stock in two weeks. None are in our Black Friday ad so no worries except for the thousands upon thousands of lost revenue. The kicker? Even though I haven't had any Wiis in two weeks I have sold 412 this month with an average atachment of 275ish dollars on top of the actual console. I actually had a meeting with a Ninetendo marketing rep in late September and was told we would have 150% more Wiis this year than last corporate wide. Of course 150% of not shit is still not shit. I could have sold 1,000 of the suckers this month.

China still gets the majority of the Wiis with North America being second. We just have more retailers to divvy them out to than most places.

I love my Wii but if I get another year of people whining to me after the Wiis sell out about what are they going to give their kids for christmas or blaming ME for not having them(cuz apparently I hide them in the great beyond that is the back room) I'm flinging an XBox 360 at them. Like I am responsible for their lack of planning.

My employer has had no trouble keeping in a regular supply of the systems thus far. Our issue has been keeping WiiFit in stock, which I haven't seen in several weeks.

That said, I have warned each of my customers that if they wanted a Wii system, they needed to buy it then and there, because all bets were off after Thanksgiving.

As an aside, I'm not very fond of retailers that make their employees work on Thanksgiving.

Actually, the scalpers are probably half the reason why it keeps selling out so quickly. Every Wii that gets resold on eBay is a Wii that isn't on a store shelf or in an actual customer's living room.

Anyway, that tactic didn't work in Europe. The retailers turned out to have sufficient stock after the initial rush died down, and the scalpers were stuck with gear they would have to sell at a loss in order to move it.

I went to see my mother at her work yesterday before I went to her house for dinner. I was in the electronics section making out my christmas list (under her forcing...she pinched my ear and made me *ROFL*), and I had to comment on the fact that everyone around seems to be complaining about being unable to find Wiis...when right in front of me are eighteen getting dusty on the shelf next to a whole pyramid of Wii Fits.

Ugh. People like that make me SO mad. Heaven forbid your little precious doesn't have everything he wants right away!

You know what me and my sister got one year? Tin can stilts. (This would probably have been circa 1986-87) My parents couldn't afford anything that year, but still wanted us to have fun. We loved those stupid stilts, and wore them out. It wasn't till I was 16 that I realized we hadn't had any money that year. We grew up knowing that our parents couldn't afford everything we wanted, but that they'd do their best to get us something we'd like.

Grrrrr! Sorry, these EW's really tick me off....

Seconded. Nobody's gonna die if they don't have their precious Wii. It's not shelter, food, or clothing, so what the stink is their problem?

I bought a Wii last year in the summer and kept it hidden until Christmas.

So these people are definitely Wii-tards, because they have been available pretty regularly for the last year. I shop at my local Target at least twice a month for groceries (unfortunately, not a Super Target) and necessities. I've seen Wiis sitting in the game cases for several days, even a week after the ad. Now, I have seen some ads for bundles this year with stores adding an extra controller or game for just a little more, but my sanity is worth more than waiting until the last minute to buy one.

My younger son's DS is dying, and, thanks to info on bfads.net, I was able to purchase the new Mario bundle from Amazon (free shipping!) for $134.95. Yea! And then I stayed up until Staples' site came up and bought a couple of things with rebates and got free shipping. I love the internet. No waiting outside a closed store, in the damp and chill, half asleep and dying for a restroom, hoping that the next store on my list still has the items left after I get through the current store's list of shopping.

People come into my store and ask if we have any Wii's or PS3s available and then gripe that no one has them ...

Uhhh, hello ... we're a pawn shop. You don't see a Wii in the display case, then we don't have one and I sure as hell ain't gonna "check the back" for you.

Wiis and PS3s are one thing people are refusing to lose or sell ... (which isn't a bad thing).
This area is left blank for a reason.
