I had to go get ice for my drink today, and the only place that is open and has ice is the Tedeschi, formerly Store 24. I worked there for three months in 1993, and I remember how much it SUCKED, especially when it is the only place open.
There was a pseudo-sucky person in front of me, who changed their order in the middle because of some deal that made a 2-liter cost less than a 20 ounce soda, or some kinda crap like that, then it was my turn, and I couldn't stop my BTM filter (well I didn't have to!):
Cashier takes my money and gives me change.
Me: It SUCKS working here on Thanksgiving!
Her: Yeah it does.
Me: It SUCKS working here on ANY holiday. Sundays SUCK, third shift SUCKS, and lottery SUCKS. Have a good Thanksgiving though!
I THINK they took it in the spirit of empathy which it was meant to be.
