  • We are NOT open yet!

From the Pizza archives forever burned in my mind.....

It was a friday morning, back in my assistant manager days and I always hated those because they were busy and our company in its infinite wisdom only allowed us to schedule one person for lunch. Anyways.......

We opened at 11 am. At about 10:50 as I am furiously trying to get ready for business, I hear knocking at the door. I look up and here is a rough looking guy with a cap on and a look of bewilderment on his face. I have no time for this so I go back to prepping slice pies to use during the lunch rush. Well, he knocks again. In a huff, I go over to the door and ask "Yes?"
Through the door he asks:"Are you going to take my order?!"
    Me:"We aren't open yet."
Sc:"So you're NOT going to take my order?!"
I pointed to the hours sign, under his nose and explained that we were not open yet, and he angrily walked off and didn't return when I did open. I of course didn't particularly WANT to see him again anyways. Also, I didn't even have the lobby lights on either! As I am sure most of you know, you are just as likely to get robbed first thing in the morning as you are late at night. Don't get me started on people that would jerk on the door late at night either. I never let anyone in early or late. I didn't care who they were. Even this one young woman who was so beautiful she could have made me dig my own grave and lick the shovel afterwards. Sigh. She of course, waited for me to open and was so nice and plesant about it I almost felt bad for making her stand in the cold, but rules are rules.

"Oh, sure, I'll take your order, but since at this location we prepare the first order LAST, it'll be a while."
