A few years ago at another university I worked for (this one had a front desk as it was an adult learning facility) a guy and his g/f or wife came in.
From the get go, he was kinda weird. Not creepy weird, but just weird. He didn't want to talk to loud I suppose, but he asked if there was anyone in the psychology department he could talk to.
Naturally, myself and those at the desk automatically think that he wants to enroll in classes. So we start the intake process and give him forms to fill out - when he looks at them weird, we figure out something else is up.
He repeats that he wants to talk to someone in the psychology department and we ask him to fill out the forms and let him know that the on duty faculty can talk to him about enrollment.
Finally he tells us that he doesn't want to enroll, he just wants to talk to "someone."
I'm not sure how long it takes us to figure out that he came in to get help from one of our psychology professors for his own personal uses.
WTF
The kicker is... since we are an adult learning facility, most of our faculty are adjuncts, and they don't foot on the "campus" until the evening time. Our department chairs are very busy, and the head of the psychology major doesn't have practice (not sure if they ever did).
I guess if all else fails, go to the nearest university for free psych help!
One of the other admissions counselors chatted with him briefly and magically got him to go away.
