I just got off work, tonight the event was boxing. I worked it before and it was a nice crowd just enjoying themselves. Tonight, I got a case of every stereotype being shown and the worst case of stupidity ever.
I ran into quite a few stereotypes, most of them were black and they would pretty much have Cosby down their throat if he so much saw them. One of the stereotype customers is playing his music too loudly, I don't even say a thing because it's a waste of time so he gets the hint and turns it down only slightly. I yell out the charge and he tells me to relax and goes on about black and white relations. Most of the other customers (white, black, any color) most of the time did not have money causing me a massive headache and a traffic jam. Most of these customers had the IQ of 59 and I'm just being generous for these customers.
I finished my post and walked back up to my building for where we punch in. As I walk up, I am stopped. I have no problem with helping them but this felt like a truck.
"Is this the ******* arena?"
The thing is they were facing it, there are signs all over the place and the arena's been in pictures in newspapers, magazines, and all sorts of media and they did not know that they were at the arena. The sad thing is, they were serious too.
