SC: Why did you return the check?
Me: Check came in on the 2nd and money came in on the third.
SC: But other times you've paid it.
Me: We may pay it as a courtesy, but we may not. We do not promise to pay anything that overdraws the account.
SC: I want the name and title of the person who approves it or not.
Me: There is not A person that does it.
SC: I want to know your guidelines of how you choose.
Me: That's internal information.
SC: What?
Me: That information is not available to customers.
SC: So you can just pick and choose what you pay or not?
Me: If it overdraws the account, that's exactly right, we get to pick and choose which items we want to loan you money for and for which we don't.
SC: That's bullshit.
SC: I forgot my PIN.
Me: I can either mail it to you or you can pick a new one inside the branch.
SC: But branches are closed now and I want money NOW.
Me: Those are the only two options.
SC: What the hell is wrong with this bank, why is it always so difficult to get things done?
Long:
Customer calls that a company charged her something but she talked to them and they'll credit her without having to file a claim with us if we tell them she's the only one on the account on a 3-way call. We usually make the customer have the other party on before us on 3-ways (and the customer has to initiate the 3-way, we can't) but I made an exception because we have long hold times and the other company didn't.
Before she gets the other company on, she updates her address and phone #.
OC: Other company
OC: We're a dating service over the phone.
SC: Oh I would never use something like that.
OC: The number the call was placed from is XXX-XXX-XXXX
Me: <<HEY that's the # she had before and had me change!>>
SC: I don't recognize that #.
OC: But that's the # you are calling from and shows up on my caller ID <<On mine too!>>
SC: I'm calling from my grandma's house and I don't know her number.
OC: You don't know what # you are calling from?
SC: No, I don't.
OC: You don't recognize the number and you are calling from that number...
A few minutes later.
SC: Ok, I lied, I do know the number but I really didn't make the call so I don't want to pay for it, and I don't know who did.
OC: Then you are going to have to make a claim with your bank, I am not crediting that charge.
And I promptly left notes on her account of what transpired along with the "old" phone number and address in order to aid our wonderful claims dept.
