  • I don't know what to say to that.

Well, I've heard everything now. A couple of weeks ago, it was very cold outside.

WC-It's colder than Jesus' loincloth out here.
    Me-
WC- yeah, I bet he felt real cold up there on that cross, hanging naked.
    Me-I'm sure it was cold
WC- Yup, I'm sure when they strip you naked and hang you up on a cross, you'd be freezing.
    Me-

Apparently, this guy is a bit unstable.

No (Poop) Sherlock comes to mind, although I would imagine if you're hanging on a cross being cold would be the last thing on your mind.

except that... Israel is in a sub-tropical region, just 29-30 degrees north of the equator. What I read online is that winter is "Cool and rainy" (not freezing).

though i don't doubt your estimate on the SC's stability!

I am sure I could come up with a few things to say....

"So you're old enough to remember how cold it was that day?"

"So you're saying Mary Magdalene was a frigid bitch?"

"What, he turned water into wine snowballs?"

"I didn't realize they crucified him in Siberia."

"Considering he lived in the subtropical desert, you're saying it's just a touch cool outside?"

Depends on if it rains hard enough. It may only be 'cool' but when you're completly soaked you're going to be very unhappy. That and Israelis have a hard time whenever the temperature is below 10 degrees (I'm being generous)

John Cleese wore a blanket for that scene in Life of Brian, so yeah, actually. According to either Jones or Idle it *was* cold during teh crucifixion scene.

Now that would be cool. (And why do I hear it in my head with a Jewish mother accent? )

Haha. Forget the whole theology aspect; if a joke, ANY joke, needs explaining, it wasn't funny and likely won't be to that particular listener.

While we're on theology/coldness references, though....

My good friend and co-worker who was married to a Wiccan woman came in one very cold morning with a smug smirk. Someone took the bait finally and asked what was up.

In modulated puffs of fog in the cold morning air, he said, "Well... I can confirm it." (pause for effect) "Today, it IS colder than a witch's tit!"

I've never understood this one. My bewbs are usually quite warm.

My grandfather had one that I don't get either. Colder that Billy Hill. Where is Billly Hill and why is it so damn cold?

Ah, if they were in a brass bra whilst you were face down in a snowbank, they would be quite cold.

Though I figure the original would be the cold tits of a woman who had the bad grace to not have sex with you..........

Unless you're my late aunt and had implants that leaked, then yes yours would be warm.

Hers, OTOH, were cold and clammy to the touch, not to mention very lumpy all over. And having had to help bathe her when she was bedridden, I know first hand just how gross that felt.
