An older one, back when I was a pseudo-supervisor. I get a call from one of my reps saying the caller is demanding a supervisor. I get the info, calls comes through. Person starts ranting from the word "Go". I try to be patient and polite, let it get out of his system. I started asking pointed questions (so I could, you know, help) and he gets pissy with me. The following exchange happens after 7 minutes of putting up with this jerk:
Jerk: You're not listening to me!
Me: On the contrary, Sir. I've been listening and trying to get more information. I want to help you, but you're not giving me much.
Jerk: I don't like your tone, asshole.
Me:
(That's it. You pushed my little red wagon)
Well, we're getting nowhere, Sir. Do you have any other questions?
Jerk: I want to talk to your manager!
Me: No.
Jerk: Excuse me?
Me: That's right. I said No. I'm the highest person you're going to speak to tonight.
Jerk: You WILL put me through to your manager or I'll-
Me: I'm not, Sir. And any threat you make against me is empty at best. As you have no further questions, thank you for calling (agency).
Jerk: This is unbel-(released)
