  • lower my rate

Guest: yea Dave, I just noticed on your website the rate is $600 lower than what we paid so I need to be refunded the difference

Me: I cant do that, sir

Guest: no you will do it because I think by law, you have to call and inform me if you drop your rates

Me: no sir it says on our website that rates are subject to change

Guest: I dont recall seeing that

Me: well I can assure you it's there

Guest: well that just aint right....you cant get away with this

The guy bitches and moans enough that the manager finally tells me to go ahead and give him the lower rate but was that good enough for him? Is anything we do good enough for an SC?

Guest: what I cant get my repeat renter discount on top of that?

    Me: no sir

Guest: well I feel like I am being ripped off here, Dave

Me: I am very sorry sir

Guest: well I want the published rate plus my repeat renter discount otherwise you havent given me a deal

Me: sir we agreed to lower the rate but the manager was very clear that you cant get any discounts in addition to the already low rate

Guest: Dave, watch how you talk to me. I am your customer. You owe me respect.

    Me: I did respect you

Guest: if I say you didnt respect me, you didnt respect me. I dont think contradicting me was very respectful

    Me: I am sorry sir

Guest: well I dont think you were very sincere but ok......I want that rate online plus my repeat renter discount and AAA and then I will consider it a deal

I talk to the manager and she says no

Guest: well Dave, it is your job to plead my case and you've not done that. Let me talk to the manager.

And of course I am the jerk for not telling him what he wanted to hear...he didnt get his discount but the manager agreed to let him have a noon checkout. Jerkface

      ...managment...what managment?

I have a question.... does your manager just like being walked all over or did he/she recently have a traumatic brain injury? Otherwise I just don't see how someone has not .... *removed due to violent, graphic nature and multiple explosions *said manager.

...sorry >.> I just cant stand seeing management completely undercut an employee and hurt the company because they cant say no.

I have a feeling that when your clientele is basically made up entirely of walking moneybags, your managers are much more likely to cave in to them because there are other places willing to take their big bucks.

See, if I was your manager, the second that guy decided the discounted rate wasn't good enough, I would have revoked the offer. Then I would have added a pain and suffering tax for every minute he stayed on the line whining about it.
