    My very own Jerry Springer special

    Jf=me of course
    D=kid working front counter
    SW=stupid woman
    PG=pregnant girlfriend

    After his break D come up to me and says his pregnant 16 year old girlfriend has run away from home. Her parents have concluded that he kidnapped her and are threatening to have him arrested. He is understandably freaked out especially since he doesn't know where she is. I do my best to calm him down and it seems to work. About an hour later my spidey sense tingles and I notice a very angry woman staring him down so I walk over to him. Just as I get there she starts in on him.

    SW: I know you have her and I'm going to have you arrested!
    D:Bu......
    SW:NOO either you or someone with you has her!! RABBLE RABBLE!!!!
    JF:You are NOT going to harass my employees
    SW:He has my daughter!!!
    JF:Well he sure doesn't have her in his pocket so you are going to stop NOW or I am going to call the police
    SW:He doesn't have her here but he took her away!!
    JF: I just said stop or I'm calling the cops now get out
    SW:I was going to buy food!!
    JF:You're not now!
    SW:You're mean!! (storms out the door)

    I then call my boss and tell him what has gone on. 20 minutes later D's girlfriend comes in. She's crying hysterically about not wanting to go home. He eventually manages to convince her to call the police so they can take her home and file a report with DHS (apparently her mother is abusive). Hopefully this is the end of it. Somehow I doubt that though.

    Yikes...I'm guessing Mom's none too happy about her precious snowflake getting knocked up, so honestly I can't blame her for running away.

    But that's all I'm going to say about that...no Fratching for me.

    Sadly, I doubt this will be the end of it, now that her mom knows where your CW works.

                Well the cops took her back home but they got her to file a report on the abuse. So now DHS will be sending a social worker to check on her.

                  Get the phone numbers or contact information for the abuse hotlines in your area and give them to D. If his girlfriend's mother is abusive, she can call them for help - and possibly for a stay in one of their shelters while DHS deals with the mother.


                  Other than that, leave the situation for the professionals to handle. The police, DHS, the abuse hotlines and shelters, are well capable of sorting things out. Don't risk you or D or anyone else getting hurt.

                    Believe me I want NOTHING to do with this crap. I'll be happy if they keep their trashy asses out of my store. I doubt that will happen though.

                        I'd say that it was a piss poor attempt at an excuse to remain there to harass the poor guy.

                            Dude, at least make a token effort to help the girl. Passing along a phone number to a battered women's shelter can't hurt.

                              that's what i was thinking.

                              But ... seriously I hope everything works out.

                              I can imagine she's very stressed at the moment - young age, pregnancy hormones, her mom's anger. That's a lot to handle at once.
