Shadowrun? The video game based on the RPG?

Great concept for a game (the world of magic returns in the late 90's and battle with science). Never played the video game, tried the RPG once. The whole 'dice pool' thing had the poor GM so unprepared that we walked over his antagonists, lit his story on fire and danced on the ashes...

Prefered the CyberPunk 2nd edition rules. Another GM ran a Shadowrun story using CyberPunk rules. Great fun.

    [/nerd rant]

Funny...I always thought a group of weasels was called CONGRESS.

          *giggles* Good link, too.

I think the weasels line was the best one in that series, Gravekeeper.

            They Can Smell Fear

            Me: “Good evening, <company>”
Girl: “Give a little love and it all comes back to you~”
            Me: “….pardon?”
Girl: “Give a little love and it all comes back to you~. Now you sing!”
Guy: “Give a little love and it all comes back to you!”
Girl: “Give a little love and it all comes back to you~”
Guy: “Give a little love and it all comes back to you!”
            Me: “….oooookay.”

I’m just going to back away slowly now and try not to make any sudden movements.
            They got it wrong.
You give a little love and it all comes back to you
            La la la la-la la-la
You know you're gonna be remembered for the things that you say and do
            La la la la-la la-la
            (repeat and fade)

They didn't la la la at all. I feel gypped. They kept singing that refrain over and over till I hung up too. It was.....odd to say the least. Like you think its a prank call, but than it goes on too long and than it just becomes awkward for everyone involved. ;p

I remember playing the SNES RPG version all the way through. It was pretty good, honestly. Though my memories may be rose coloured by now. Was the only Shadowrun I ever played though. We preferred Cyberpunk for p&p.

I probably have the original Cyberpunk books in a box around here somewhere....I have half the 1st edition AD&D books on my shelf. I wouldn't be surprised if anything else was about. =p

Now you're really making me want to read through my Cyberpunk 2nd Edition book and run it sometime. *strokes his goatee*

I keep on finding role-playing books in the local charity shop. ^.^

But ... but ... I'm drinking my tea! It's nice and iced and sweetened just right with just a hint of lemon. Do I really have to put it down? ()

The girls behind me on the Skytrain this evening were discussing a “+4 gas station”. Which both confused and intrigued me. As I immediately envisioned a gas station that granted +4 to my damage and to-hit rolls. Because I mean I would totally shop there if that were the case. But sadly they seemed to be talking about some sort air miles thing instead. Which was much less exciting.
Well, I know what my next quest is going to be...must gather the 20 sided dice!

Heh, I played both the NES and Genesis versions of Shadowrun--both good games in their own right, oddly enough. Never cared for the tabletop, though the background is good fodder. I used it (modified) for a Sci-fi game using the Fusion (Mekton Zeta) system for Role-Playing and Silent Death for ship-to-ship combat.

I've played the Bubblegum Crisis RPG, and liked it. So thumbs up here. Cyberpunk was great in the 2.0 rules, but you may want to skip 3.0. They have some nasty gaps in the rules that are not apparent when you are making up characters. The background is good fodder for updating your 2.0 game, though.

Yes. Yes you do. I know it's hard, but it's necessary. I'll help you start.

                              Now you try.

Thank you Jester. Not only did I snort tea through my nose, it came out of my nose. I almost fell out of my chair laughing so much and to top it off, my cat is making sure I'm okay by laying on top of my arms, just above my wrists to make sure I'm no longer drinking my tea or falling out of my chair.

ETA a picture of my cat.
