You cant walk out of here with all that for free
We are currently offering a Rewards Member-only special on Quickbooks. You get QuickBooks Pro for $100 off, and get three related titles for free instantly with the purchase of QBP. This offer is accomplished through coupons that were mailed to Rewards members.
Well, it seems that Office Depot is running a similar sale, but extending it to everyone.
This guy comes in and wants us to price match Office Depot, then allow him to use the coupons to get EVERYTHING for free.
Sorry, but it doesn't work that way, and our Price Match policy specifically forbids this type of thing.
Me: Sir, I can't let you have this for free.
SC: But it's not for free; it's for $99.99, then you use this coupon.
Me: That makes it free. I'm sorry but I can't do it.
SC: *pounds fist on counter* That is the way I want to do it!!
Me: I'll get the manager.
I walked away and got the sales manager, who - thankfully - stood his ground and refused to give away software for free in violation of store policy. SC walked out.

I - thankfully - did not have to deal with this woman, but I was told all about it.
She wanted to copy a book at the copy center.
The book is copyrighted, and specifically says "Do not reproduce without written permission." Therefore, we can't copy it or allow her to use the self-service machines to do so without a written copyright release.
We have release forms available, and will fax them free of charge.
Nope, woman "doesn't understand" why we won't copy the material and proceeds to waste about 3 man-hours worth of our time by repeatedly calling in to argue with the copy center associates and the Sales Manager.
By the way, the book she wanted to copy? It was a book about copyrights and copyright law.
