  • What, no KFC stories??

I'm wondering because I know they honored that free chicken coupon the other day, which I believe was an internet print-out. I can imagine all the issues it would cause with no limits, or just too many customers.

i actually went to KFC/taco bell on the day that coupon came out (I had forgotten about it, and my SO had other coupons to use). There was a sign on the door that said they couldn't honor the coupons anymore.

My guess is that we have no KFC people on site, because I can't imagine that there would be no word on that fiasco.

Although the KFC thing did get mentioned as an aside in another thread. I think I'm the one that brought it up, but I couldn't tell you which thread, or even with section it was in.

Yeah I don't think we have any KFC folks on here, that post anyway. Though we might soon after this fiasco. You never know.

I've got a story about the time someone at my local KFC dropped a box of coleslaws. It's not very interesting though.

Meh I tend to avoid my local Clunkin' Bell (credit to Jay 2K Winger ) as they never make my order right and I'm not a big fan of KFC either so I didn't know about the coupon fiasco till this morning when someone metioned it at work. I gotta say I'm glad, no I'm extatic I don't work for KFC right now.

I used to work at KFC. The only rela gripes were the stone-age tills... that if you put in item 2 wrong, you had to void off EVERY SINGLE ITEM YOU PUT IN SINCE THAT ONE, including that one, in reverse order.

And it didnt always see the 'void' paper and thus, wouldnt always print. I was trying to undo a very long order cause the lady changed her mind and spent ten minutes. I was in tears. I didnt even last till my first toonie Tuesday.

I also didnt like that they forbade surgeon-type gloves (can't remember the term anymore) for even cleaning the washroom... latex. That's it. And that washwroom was NASTY. I refused to wear those thin plastic 'holey' ones that sandwich shops use. I also refused to do the bathroom without the latex gloves.

i went and BOUGHT two piece plate today (really good by the way, way better than their fried in my opinion) and every where customers could be there where signs saying 'we are sorry for the inconvinence please turn your coupon for free chicken up front for a rain check.' i almost laughed

Almost? I totally would have laughed.

Then I probably would have left a tip (which I never do at a fast food joint) just because I feel bad for them.

Ahh...I went to KFC on that fateful day. They had a worker standing at the head of the drive-thru line passing out something. Silly me thought it was a survey or something that allowed people to get free stuff.

I ended up going into the lobby because I did want to try the grilled chicken. In the lobby, I was greeted by another worker who explained that they are giving out rain checks for the coupons...or something...I didn't care to listen to the whole thing because once she asked me if I had a coupon and I said "no", we both lost interest in each other.

I did try the grilled chicken. I have been waiting for-EVAH for KFC to come out with an alternative to their fried fare. I always had to remove skin or squeeze the chicken with napkins to remove the grease on the rare occasions that I would eat there. The grilled chicken is not bad. I won't eat it all the time, but its a nice alternative.

On another fast food gone good note - Long John Silver's recently added fresh fish selection to their menu....grilled tilapia, salmon, and shrimp served with veggies and rice. I tried the tilapia - it was very tasty and came in around 300+ calories for the entire meal.

KFC makes me sick...it didn't use to. I used to love to treat myself with their food but a couple months ago I had some and spent the night in the bathroom. Thinking it was a fluke I tried them again about a month ago and spent the night in the bathroom.

So yea no KFC for this girl.

The hubby printed the limit of 4 coupons and he gave one to a coworker. When he used his they were out of the grilled chicken and they gave him extra crispy. We went back a few days later after a long day at work and they were giving vochers.
We just said oh well and ordered(and paid) for a meal. As we were eating there were a lot of people bitching and cussing. You could tell that the workers were stressed out because they forgot all of our sides. But unlike a SC we just went up and asked for them,we didn't cry to corporate and demand them all to be fired. It tasted really good since we don't eat there but maybe once a year, too greasy.

Mine would be more of a sighting from my sister. She went to one in NJ and it was mobbed. She and a bunch of other people were in line for a LONG time when a group of trash came in and just cut in front of everyone. My sister said they should go to the back of the line and wait like everyone else. They yelled at her "Don't start somethin' you ain't going finish!"
And the workers there were so scared of the mob they just let them cut. Plus, even though the coupons said one per person, there were people there with 10 or more and since the crew was scared, they just gave them as many as they wanted.
I won't be going to a KFC again just because of this. It was a poorly thought out gimmick.

I told my sister that I guess KFC now stands for "Killed For Chicken".

I also printed the coupons but havent gone yet. Theyre usable til the 19th of May I think, and I KNEW better than to go the first day they were able to be used..but I havent checked to see if the KFC's here are still honoring them.
