Got this just now. My own friend. We had a power outage from midnight to 4am Sat morning. Someone near a construction site had stolen & went on a "joy ride" with a backhoe. They slammed it into a power line, left the scene, and the still running machine somehow got power line rapped around it while it was still on.
So...my friend rented the jacuzi suite lSat. night at $150+tax, we had the following convo:
F says: so last night SUCKED
I say: it did?
F says: thanks to that power outage i ended up going home at around 2 and then coming home at 4 to check out. i was PISSED you have no idea. what a fucking waste of money
I say: Yeah we had a guest have a panic attack when the power went out. I guess. I wasn't here.
F says: well i can say that my entire night was fucked. i was so mad i had to leave to calm down.
I say: And a guy claimed he has lung cancer and because the power was out the room's ventelation system stopped working & smoke came into his room
I say: Yeah... I can't believe both of those people got their money back for something most of the fucking town had to deal with. Such bullshit
F says: yeah, i won't be doing that again ever. boo
I say: no doubt, that is crap (at this point I remembered she had rented a room HERE, I had kinda no idea what she was talking about...lol)
F says: i know i would have been out the money anyway, but i paid to have a good time. for fucks sake, i could have sat in my car and at least listened to the radio wich is more than i could have done last night.
I say: yeah...
I say: and knowing NG, he is kinda retarded so I am sure people inquiring he just stared at
F says: what does he look like? 'cause i was a bitch to someone
I say: He looks like a slow kid LOL (The new person the hotel has working with me at night....is so very much not qualified to run a desk or do the audit or anything... His people skills are severely lacking and he is narcaleptic on top of it all, for a night job???)
F says: that is the second bad experience (girlfriend) and i have had at a (brand of hotel). we won't be staying at one again. i know it wasn't the hotels fault, but nothing was done to "make it up to us". done with that shit.
F says: is he heavy?
I say: kinda
F says: really short fuzzy hair?
I say: Nothing can be done if we don't realize a person was upset
I say: yes
F says: i told him i was upset!
F says: i told him many times that i was upset
I say: did he just stare at you & say "uh" a lot?
F says: yes. and that pissed me off more.
I say: okay since it's on a card, I will discount it
I say: yeah, he pisses me off
F says: i told him that i was upset that we didn't get to enjoy most of the damn room. also, we didn't even get to use the jacuzzi. i asked him what the hell we paid for and he just said he was sorry. that pissed me off more
F says: most places try to make something right
I say: yeah well he doesn't know how to wipe his own ass
F says: that doesn't make it better...sorry. i'm still way pissed off. i ended up paying for a dark box. it'll take me a while to cool down from that.
I say: yeah, understandable. It was in the paper why there was a power outage. Some dumb ass stole a backhoe thing & slammed in into a eletric pole, fled the scene, and then the machine somehow was still on & rapped itself around the wires. fun
F says: yeah, i saw like 12 cops...that was fun
The sad thing? Said friend worked here as night maintenance with me for like 6 months. They also worked the desk... She logged onto the internet to tell me how upset she was. I discounted her room from 152.10+tax down to 99+tax.
