  • Some people shouldn't have kids...(Language, Ranty)

    Okay background

I live in the Seattle area. Right now we are having really nice sunny weather. Today it was about 75-80 degrees with about 70% humidity. This is important as you'll see later.

I didn't witness all of it but I head chunks of it from co-workers and a manager.

    Okay story:

A customer came in and told one of my coworkers that there was a van or svu parked in the fire lane. Normally not a problem we'll just page overhead for the customer to move their vehicle. However, the customer quickly told my CW that there was a child in the car and the windows were rolled up completely

My CW paged overhead for the customer to move their vehicle the child in it. My Awesome manager, will be known as AM, called her to make sure that she heard the page correctly. She did.

My manager comes rushing up to the front on the phone with 911. She gets out there and examines what is happening.

Just then mother of the year comes out the store. My manager proceeds to rip her about 50 new assholes.

    A little background on AM:

She has a 1 year old son, who I absolutely adore, but that wasn't her first pregnancy. She miscarried her first one and was trying ever since to have one. Now she does. She adores kids.

Now this 'mother' calls later on and demands to talk to our managers and corporate. She just can't believe the way that she had been treated.

    To the mother:

What the fuck?????!!!!! What is wrong with you??? You just can't leave your 10 month old baby in the car while you merrily go shopping. That's illegal! It's called child endangerment! You are so lucky that my manager didn't have to police come anyway!!!! You are lucky that we didn't write your license plate number down and call CPS on you to get your child taken away from you. You know what? You don't deserve to have one. There are many people out there that would be lovely and great parents that can't have children. They would actually care about the welfare of their kids instead of what they could get at the hardware store. It's to much trouble to get your kid out of the car when you go places you say? Well to fucking bad. You decided to spread your legs deal with it. If you don't want to take the baby with you leave it at home with father or someone that you trust to take care of it. Don't leave it in the fucking car!!!!

To corporate at my store: Don't you dare do anything to AM. I love her to death. She was just protecting the life of that baby. If you have to do anything write her up. But please don't give into the demands of that asshole excuse for a mother and for god's sake don't give her a fucking gift card for her troubles.

Yeah just slightly. Kids, up until a certain point, are innocent and don't deserve some of the parents they end up with.....

      I can't stand irresponsible people..

If anyone tried that here, not only would my manager be ripping into her, several of the checkout operators would be as well (most of them have children under 5)

Out here if there is an animal in a car with the windows up, we can legally break their windows. I hate to see what they would do in that situation. What a bitch. That makes my blood boil!!

I would have called the cops AFTER I broke the windows of that vehicle to get that kid out of there.

Sadly, where I work I caught 2-people, mothers, doing this. Both times I called the police and the mothers were scared enough to stay-put until the police arrived; this sort of thing did take priority. Where I live you CANNOT leave a child under the age of 6 in a car alone without a child over the age of 12 to watch them. The 1st mother had 5 children in the car, ages 1,3,5, 7 and 9 or so. So she got fined $100 EACH for the ones under six. The 2nd mother was parked in the fire lane, and her son managed to undo his child seat belt, climb into the driver's seat, then exit the car and follow me around!!!!!

I personally don't want children, but if you have them, they deserve to be taken care of!

All that when they could have hired a sitter if their kids were THAT MUCH of a hassle. They were friendly, happy kids too. Too friendly to be left where any stranger could talk to them.

Sadly I can't tell you how many times in my state (Florida) there's stories on the news of idiot parents leaving their kids in the car (hot as fuck weather, windows rolled ALL THE WAY UP) and the kid dies. That lady is lucky that your manager and nobody else called the cops and CPS on her ass. People like her shouldn't have kids and I agree with Irv's idea. SO and I don't have kids but sometimes the dog (he's a small fry..15 lb. schipperke) comes with us in the car. If we have to leave the dog for a few minutes in the car to get something (that's the most he'll be in the car), we'll open up the sun roof for him and the windows enough for him to get some air, but not to jump out of the car.

                      Idiots

That's really sad. I don't have kids, or want them. I don't even like being around them. But even so I don't want them to come to harm.

If I see someone leave an animal or a kid in a hot car, I think I'd break the windows.

I saw we take that "mother" and lock her in the back of my friend's tractor trailer and leave it sit in the sun for a few hours.

The maternal McGoddess is growling inside of me.

If I would have been there as a customer, I would have broken the car window and pulled hte kid out of there, with a cellphone in my hand with the dispatcher of 911 talking to me. Then I would rip that woman 51 new assholes.

When the protective motherly part comes out, all who wish to live should flee.

This makes me very sad, and reminds me of an incident at the store where I work. Not a case of a child being abandoned in a car, but something almost as bad.

It was about six years ago, shortly after I got bumped up to FDLP. It was the middle of a very cold winter (we're talking what I like to call "cut ya to the bone" cold, below freezing, plus windy and damp), and this couple parks across the street by the local Yellow Tag Electronics Store, and proceed to walk across the street to visit the wholesale club, while carrying their very small, less-than-12-month-old baby with them. The parents hadn't bundled the baby up enough to protect it against the cold.

The baby had stopped breathing, and EMTs were called to the store to attempt to resuscitate before the baby was hurried off to the hospital.

                          The baby didn't make it.

All because the parents decided to walk in below-freezing-before-wind-chill weather across the street, and didn't think about how it might affect their baby. It made me very sad and angry.

Sorry, as a customer if I saw a car parked with a kid in it, the cell phone comes out and 911 is dialed. Immediately, no questions asked. been there, did it and gave dispatch the license tag number.

I am not particularly maternal, have absolutely no desire to procreate but I deplore people who abuse kids and animals, defenseless beings that depend on us so called adults to protect and care for them.

[i have a deplorable temper, and have pain control issues that make me short tempered and I know I have historically no business procreating as I would have to give the kid up for adoption to make certain that I didn't inadvertantly harm it]

as a baby who was once left in car it makes me sick to here those stories, because mine wa n accident my aunt forgot to unlock the doors and looked her keys in with me, called 911 rightaway and broke out the hose ot keep me form ove rheating.

not only is it illegel but here its also illegel for animels too, and i believe your allowed ot make the moves need to save the children or animals such as smashing open a window.

but i hope your corprate knows better.
