Ok so this lady sends an email to us asking if the owner would accept winter rates for 4th of July week in addition to a repeat renter discount and AAA and AARP. I wrote back and simply said no.
She called
Guest: Dave, you sent me an email back and all you said was no. That offends me that you wont even take my offer to the owner for consideration
Me: sir, you are asking for winter rates in July plus discounts on top of that
Guest: given this economy, I think that is reasonable
Me: sir, it's not...youre basically asking for an almost 75% discount
Guest: so?
Me: so we cant do that
Guest: and you wont even call the owner and ask?
Me: no sir
Guest: so you just dont want my business?
Me: we do but we cant give the place away
Guest: you must not want me as a customer when you wont even attempt to help me out....all I am asking you to do is call him....if he says no, fine
Me: sir I am not going to the owner with that
Guest: son, youre being very disrespectful and I dont appreciate it. I am going to take my business to someone who knows good customer service because you dont. I make you a legitimate offer and you laugh in my face. That is not the way you treat a customer.
