    Ok so this lady sends an email to us asking if the owner would accept winter rates for 4th of July week in addition to a repeat renter discount and AAA and AARP. I wrote back and simply said no.

    She called

    Guest: Dave, you sent me an email back and all you said was no. That offends me that you wont even take my offer to the owner for consideration

    Me: sir, you are asking for winter rates in July plus discounts on top of that

    Guest: given this economy, I think that is reasonable

    Me: sir, it's not...youre basically asking for an almost 75% discount

    Guest: so?

    Me: so we cant do that

    Guest: and you wont even call the owner and ask?

    Me: no sir

    Guest: so you just dont want my business?

    Me: we do but we cant give the place away

    Guest: you must not want me as a customer when you wont even attempt to help me out....all I am asking you to do is call him....if he says no, fine

    Me: sir I am not going to the owner with that

    Guest: son, youre being very disrespectful and I dont appreciate it. I am going to take my business to someone who knows good customer service because you dont. I make you a legitimate offer and you laugh in my face. That is not the way you treat a customer.

    Me: ok

    Guest: go to hell CLICK

    By the way, I know I could have put the guy on hold, pretended to call the owner, came back and told him the owner said no but I prefer not to appease someone who is a jerk to me

        Please note he said "legitimate" offer, not "reasonable". Then again, if it was a reasonable offer, he wouldn't be here now, would he.
        I did not sell my soul to Satan. He does have a long term lease with the option to buy.

            I doesn't work. Believe me, I've tried.

            This sort of person just will not be happy unless they speak to the person in charge of everything and get told "absolutely not, now GTFO" by the person in charge.


            And then they will throw a tantrum.

                  Nor do I want you as a potential customer, caller, aquaintance, or conversationalist... in fact, I can't remember why I'm wasting time talking with you in the first place... the owner has informed me that this minute and a half has costed roughly XXX dollars, we expect your reimbursement within a reasonable timeframe.

                  I hope you choke on a pretzel, have a horrible day and goodriddance.


                  now that is an if only that warrents the creation of a time machine... it has a $ value!

                          Easily... all the suck gets filed into ONE category... They become ambiguous bearers of SUCK... except for their leaders who stand out for their Ass-baggary and EW-ness....

                              The thing that always gets me about these idiots - they're not after food, or (normal) housing, or clothes, or medicine.

                              It's a freakin' vacation rental they're already able to drop thousands of dollars on!

                              We should all be so hard-up.
