Personally, I just wish they'd keep the guild recruiting to the proper channel. I'm never on it so I wouldn't have to listen to them that way.
The channel names are just recommendations.

And besides, most sane people leave trade unless they want to sell something on it :P (I leave general too. I play horde and level in the barrens. 'nuff said)

I never have public channels on, ever, unless I'm strapped for help in a dungeon or something.

I learned how to turn general off pretty quick when I first hit the Barrens back in '07, when Chuck Norris jokes were running rampant.

How I wish I could be a GM, but from everything I've read, for the U.S. offices you have to live in CA or TX, and I live in neither.

Back to sharing stories though: I was running through Hellfire one day with my mats farmer and saw a node of ore. So I ran up, mined it and continued on. Then I get a whisper from some guy yelling at me that I just ninja'ed his ore. He was nowhere near it when I was there, and it's not like it was a rare type either. He said he was going to report me; I said go ahead, I did nothing wrong. Yet he kept yelling at me, so I put him on my /ignore list, hehe.

I'm not sure if he did report me or not, but I never heard from a GM.
        Here's your sign...

Me: Not only will you not get your profession back, no! You'll also not be able to complete your RAID Instance. Have fun on your three hour break.

I put Trade on its own tab. Way too much lame-ass spam going on for it to be very useful.

As for guild spam, I, personally, would never join a guild that did open invites like that. I prefer my guilds to be less than megalithic, and have people I know and have something in common with.

Ugg. Barrens chat is so awful and infamous, you get people comparing spammy chat channels to it in other MMOs!

The guild recruit macro I had set the message to post in Trade channel, as per the guild leader's suggestion, unless I was out questing away from cities... then it went into general chat.
And our guild had no more than thirty toons...

A GM saved my WoW-life last week...

Someone I knew on my server suddenly started talking to people about how he got ahold of a Spectral Tiger loot card. Then, a couple days later, he decided to start advertising the sale of it in Trade. At first he wanted 13.5k gold...then after a while he asked for 10k. Being that it was someone I knew...I talked over a payment plan with him to buy it...starting with a deposit of 6.5k.

We got to Booty Bay, he gave me the code, I gave him the gold....as I tried to enter it...I noticed it didn't work. On a second try, I whispered him that he might've written down a number wrong, only to see that he had put me on ignore. Aaaaand....he was running down the dock to the ship as fast as he could go.

I was heartbroken in more ways than one...but the GMs were freaking awesome and got me all my money back within 2 days. And, I haven't see my friend log on since.
By popular request....I am now officially the Enemy of Normalcy.

I'm always surprised by players who want in game money for Spectral Tiger's reins cards, since they go for thousands of real life dollars on eBay...
"Yeah, I'd much rather just trade for other in-game stuff, than, you know? Pay bills..."
That usually screams scam at me.

I, personally, am baffled by the people who buy said super-whoopie, rare as hell cards.

As much as I'd like to actually have some of that stuff, I'd much, much prefer the cash.

I never have trade or general on. I like my brain in one piece and those channels try and break it. I already have enough channels.

I love the TCG Cards. I have to say I bought a couple, but they were pretty cheap. Lately we have found a few from the newest release, though not the foam sword rack

And excellent pwnge on the idiot. I would love to have your job. Wish I could do it from home. I would be in heaven. Help the good people and smack the idiots.
