A man requests by mail copies of obituaries. I find them and write to him that it will be $11.
I get a letter and a check. The letter just says he is paying for the obits. The check is messy; where the no. "11" is rewritten to look like "21" and for the written out numbers, the "eleven" is made into a "twenty" and "one is added to the end (twenty one). He did not intial.
So is there a $10 donation? Or did he want us to give him $10 difference? Also, since it's not initialed, will the bank not cover it?
So was he thinking of giving us a check that would not work, and expect $10? And get copies of obituaries? I sent it back to him asking for $11, or if he wanted to give us a donation, to put in writing that the differenece is a donation. I also wanted to add "please initial so your bank doesn't think we are trying to scam you," but the super didn't want me to write that.
