So one night I signed onto my shift and my boss informed me it was my night to be in the Control Room at the start of the shift.
Not 5 minutes after she leaves, my psycho boss calls me over the radio.
Boss: Mobile one to Control
Skippy: Go
Boss: (a sense of urgency) I need you..to..uh..uh...pull up all cameras on the courtyard now
Skippy: Negative on that. We have no cameras in that area
Boss: We have a homeless guy on premesis trying to get inside and threatening to piss all over the patio. Pull up a camera... NOW!
Skippy: I'm working on it
-She's starting to panic-
Boss: I advised him to leave and he's not budging. Call the police and tell them...er..uh...Want to switch?
Skippy: Sure.
She RUNS into the Control room.
Boss: -Panicky, trembling, has lost all command- Hurry...we need to...I should...before he leaves..we should...
Skippy: Shut up. Dude, it's just a homeless bum, not a guy in a hockey mask with a chainsaw. If he pisses on the patio, great. I'll piss alongside him. IF he leaves, fine. It's what we want isn't it? Just calm down and I'll go get eyes on him til the cops arrive.
-Yes that actually happened and yes that's a direct quote-
So the individual was trying to use a door leading from the courtyard to one of our office suites. I go Splinter Cell and duck through the cubicles coming up along side his position. Though I am around a corner, through a glass I could hear him rambling. He wasn't banging on the door or jerking on it like she said he was. I peeked around the corner: his back was to me, his hands were in his pockets. Typical transient. Since he was rambling to himself though, I knew he was on Cloud 9 and not to be messed with.
Skippy: Skippy to Control. I'm stealth around the corner. He's still there.
Boss: Cops are en route.
5 minutes later.
Boss: is he still there?
Skippy: yep
5 minutes later.....
Boss: Go around to the east side and wait for the officers and direct them to him.
Skippy: Roger.
So I go over there and I stand there. Dude, I'm glad I switched because if something happened, I wanted to be there to help rather than her old psychotic shamble excuse for a supervisor. She had zero use, whatsoever in or out of the field. She proved that to me when I saw her trembling.
So I wait and a brown Sedan pulls in and zips right past me.
But then I see a Police SUV come in right behuind him. They circle around and pull up. Turns out the brown sedan was a Undercover car with a uniformed officer in it. It also turns out the Police SUV was a K9 Team.
Skippy:
Something awesome was about to go on if they bring in 2 officers and a K9 dog...
I brief the officers and lead them right to him. As soon as they approach him they draw their tazers as they move right in.
Cop = C1
Cop with Dog = C2
B=Bum
S=Skippy
C1: -to bum- "Hands up and on your knees!
C2: "NOW!!"
S: -hangs back and grins-
Miraculously, the bum complies! No run, no putting hands in his pockets, no guns, no drugs, no nothing!
S: :-(
Turns out the guy was definetly on cloud 9: he believed he was at a Rehab center in a town 5 miles away
C2: Sir, you have been advised you are on private property. See this gentlemen in the black? -points to me- He represents the company and he says you need to leave so my buddy, this employee and I are going to escort you off property. IF you come back again you will be arrested on site! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"
B: Yessiryessir
They walk him off property with me, but he keeps wandering all over the place as if drunk.
S: Dude, he's all over the place. Can't you just arrest him now? You know he's going to come back...
C1: Well if he comes back, call us.
C1 leaves, but I spy C2 pull his SUV to the edge of the property in a treeline with his lights off.
S: -thinking to self- Dude, that k9 cop knows he's going to be back..he's just waiting..I should wait...
Boss: Skippy, return to base
Fine.
I go back to the Command Center and as soon as I walk in...
Boss: Dispatch just called. The cops want to meet with you again.
I go outside and what do I see?
Another unit, and the K9 cop has our bum on property, face down, in flexicuffs.
OWNED!
Skippy to C2: "See? Told ya'"
