  • god i hate customers.

ok so i work for STARBUCKS,...and well at the one i am at it just so happens to be 24HRS and in a very busy location...in a semi ,...ok pretty rich area of town.(ferarris/lamboghinis/lexus/,....)
anyways we gets all sorts of people and majority of them are ok ....but then you get the deuche bags and bitches.

i work with my on again off again girlfriend (more open relationship type) and well she and i work great as a team. one thing is for sure,..our nite crew is different from our dayshift,...we`re more aggresive than day shift cuz of dayshift mainly being bussiness folks trying to get to work n meetings.
nite shift has more of the party crowd and drunks so we gotta be more aggressive.

anyways i just hate it when i work drive thru and you gert those jerks that pull up to the window and BEFORE the lil bell rings to let you know a car pulled up they are yelling"hello?,.hello ,HELLO?" not even a second afterthey pull up.
i mean i know its a fast food type place,...but dammit atleast let us answer you before you start with the ordering or demanding to be served.

i also hate it when the customer is a regular and is told the same thing all the time (PUMKIN SPICE is seasonal folks,..not year round).

for instance,..our store is OPEN 24hrs but we SHUT DOWN THE REGISTERS at 3am-4:30am so as to sanitize and grind coffee and prep for the next morning ,...yet the doors are open 24hrs so as to allow our customers who are in college and who do alot of away from office work on their comps to do their work.

i get customers who when are told EVERYNIGHT the same friggin thing.."sorry our registers are closed till 4:30am." and these idiots reply with,..."uhhh what if i just get a sandwich or oj?" or "even the drive thru?"
my reply is usually the same
"uhhh yeahhhh,...like i said,..WE ARE CLOSED TILL 4:30 AM. now if ya want ya can wait in the lobby or hit up IHOP.,..oh and please dont walk on my freshly mopped floor,..they will make me explain why there is a body on my floor,.....and i dont explain things well"

then you got the freaks that think just cuz they are from a foreign land that they can treat us rude,...well not with me.
I treat them the same way right back cuz if i dont ,....well they will continue to do so and will hold up my line.

like the ones that complain that they ordered a drink and it wasnt made right,...when in all actuallity THEY were too busy bullshitting on their cell,or talking to someone the entire time they were in line waiting. When they get to the register to order they look and act like a deer blinded by headlights on an open road....

i usually respond with,...(jokingly),.."oh!so youve been in line a whole 20 minutes to your watch and STILL havent decided what you want?Hmmmmnn lemme give ya a doppio so as to wake up your head,..." or " oh so youve been waiting and chatting and havent glanced at the menu?"

i just hate stupid idiotic customers.

My brother worked at Starbucks when he got out of the service. He worked at one in a richer suburb of Dallas. It practically sucked the life out of him.

Now, he's a homeland security agent for DFW airport. He doesn't even deal with the public - much - mostly their bags - any more.

hey, bags can be just as sucky....

especially if someone tries sneaking animals or something...wasn't there a story on here about a pet snake getting loose on a flight?

I gotta admit, I wouldn't call a Starbucks where you can't actually buy anything from 3-4:30AM a "24 hour" store.

the DOORS are open 24 hrs, kinda like those stores where certain sections are closed off? that'd be my guess...like the Bakery in some mega stores closes at the end of the day but the convenience part doesnt...

              Welcome my fellow barista!

I deal with all the same shit you listed, with the exception of the few hours the registers are shut down. My store isn't a 24 hour store. If it was, I wouldn't work there. (I work at Caribou btw )

My favorite question is "do the coffee coolers have coffee in them?"

Isn't that just misleading. I mean you guys are open 24 hours, but all the registers are closed down. Couldn't just one of the registers still be in use?

Well, the store is open 24 hours. What, you expect open to also mean serving?

I feel sorry for both the customer and the clerks in this situation.

Aye. My guess would be this is an instance of "Corporate Decrees It; Thus, It Must Be Done." ... Kinda like how, at GameStore, we were required to have display boxes advertising the fact that we sold Wii systems stacked in the windows, even for the 99.99% of the time that were were sold out of the damn things during the first year or so. Got some people steamed over that, too.

I don't think there are any 24 hour Starbucks around here but I remember working at a BP Safeway petrol station and mini supermarket which was 24 hour then changed to 6:00 - midnight. The problem was that the tills all had to do an audit (or something) at 22:00 that could take 5 - 10 minutes and no tills could be used and we couldn't authorise any petrol pumps. Didn't cause any major hassle but got some WTF looks from people on the forecourt when I couldn't start their pump.
