I got a call from a "lady" who said she had received a card with a certificate from us letting her know a donation was made in her honor.
She wanted to know if I could tell her how much the donation was for. Tacky, but it happens sometimes. I told her it's confidential. She asked again, "So I can't get the amount?" No, it's a privacy matter and we can't give that info out.
"Well, can you tell me if it was over $100.00?" No, it's private.
"well I just want to know if it was under $100.00 so I can donate more to make up the difference" (sure you do). Sorry, it's private. FINALLY she accepts it and hangs up.
3 MINUTES LATER - "It's me again. Can you send me a letter so I can get the tax deduction for the donation or is that just for the person who gave the money?"
That's just for the donor. "Oh, ok." and hangs up.
THEN she left a vm for one of the other donor care reps and asks THE SAME F_ING QUESTIONS AGAIN!
I should call the donor and let her know her friend is no friend! SHEESH
