I, like most other folks, prefer the little neck clams. When I was growing up, in northeast Ohio, clambakes were very popular. My family would host one every fall. You get several pots that stack together. I can't remember the order, but the bottom pot had the water and, I believe the spout where you could get some tasty clam broth when it was ready. Then above the water was the clams and if the family was adventerous...actually, if the price was right, there would possibly be some crab legs as well. Above that pot would be corn on the cob and maybe some other veggies.
mmmm....I miss those good 'ol days.
