    Guest: yea Dave, I see this property open for next summer and I dont like the price so I want to make you an offer

    Me: we dont take offers

    Guest: but I come there every year

    Me: right but this is 9 months from now, we can get someone in their at full price

    Guest: so you're just going to push aside a valuable customer because someone can afford to pay more than we can

    Me: the owner would rather have full price than a discount

    Guest: Dave, you missed the point. The point is you favor the customers with the most money and thats not fair. I am downright insulted by that. I guess we will look elsewhere....no wait, you know what, no.....I have been a customer there for 17 years and I am going to insist on a discounted rate. I want this house and I want a discount on it and I want free bikes and beach chairs added to compensate me for your insult.

    Me: I can let you speak to a manager

    Guest: NO, you will speak to the manager.....why should I do all the work here? And I have yet to hear your apology for insulting me

    Me: I apologize ma'am

    Guest: apologize for what, Dave?

    Me: ma'am, you know

    Guest: I want to hear you say it

    Me: hang on one second

    Guest: Dave, you better not be transferring me to someone else

    I transferred her to the manager and she was pissed

              I cab see MYABE taking a reduce rate if it was not booked maybe month in advance, nut when the owner has all winter to find someone, then no.

                  hmm, let me break that down for you, oh sc:

                  no, idiot, you missed the point-a business exists for two purposes: provide a product/service AND make a profit. loss on #1

                  no, again, we favor those who are willing to pay the actual full price; discounts, if given, are at the discretion of the owner, and he says 'hell no' to that and that life isn't fair, get over it. loss on #2

                  we don't care if you're insulted or not; deal with it.

                  look elsewhere; an informed INTELLIGENT consumer would naturally choose to do so, seeking out the best deal for their money, so you moving on isn't an issue. loss on #3

                  you can insist until hell freezes over, the answer is still an absolute 'no.'

                  asking for discounts AND perks for your perceived insult is an insult to this company and its owner-feel free to take your cheap, entitled ass elsewhere in the future, no, as a matter of fact, we INSIST that you take your business elsewhere. the loss we take financially will be absorbed fully by another customer and is further offset by the lessened headaches and frustrations of no longer having to deal with you and your nonsense.

                          Yup, 'cuz you know he isn't the kind who says "Oh, I got such a deal on the lodging, I think I'll spend a bit of the money I saved at their little shops, rent bikes & beach chairs, tip the staff, and all the other stuff that proves I'm a valuable customer."

                          Noooo... He's already proved that he's going to try to cheapskate every little benefit he can, and will probably show up demanding a discount for the bikes and chairs because he's a "valuable customer" and then cheat the housekeeping staff out of any tip at all.
