Customer is angry, his Outlook gets error 550 EMAIL IDENITIFIED AS SPAM.

He yelled at me "I am being politically silenced by our spam filter"

I don't quite understand. His *outgoing* email was spam?
Now the trouble about trying to make yourself stupider than you really are is that you very often succeed.

That's the best way to stop spam, at the source .

How many people is he hitting with that email that it's being stopped by the anti-spam "feature"?

Some people run home businesses on residential account, this is NOT allowed by Terms of Service.

There is limits of the amount of emails you sent, a max. of vaguely 50 emails per day.
Less emails if you send an email to alot of people and attachments.

And of course, the filter is whimsical, it zaps Outlook/Windows Mail, alot, the filter hates Outlook/Windows Mail. Strangely, I never get this issue from Thunderbird users.

Most spam I've seen (both to my account and at one of my former jobs as an abuse@ droid) claims to be sent, if not from SOOPER SEKRIT MAIL BLASTA 9000, from Outlook (and Outlook Express).

On a purely personal note, seeing O/OE in the headers tends to speed the process of determining if someone mailing me is an idiot, primarily by the HTML nightmares that those products do by default.

(I don't recall getting T-bird sent mail enough to comment on its HTML generation capability, though on general principle I'd expect, being Mozilla, it's not quite as ocularly traumatic.)

damn, I would need exemption from that a few years back, I was on 4 or 5 mailing lists for the SCA, 2 different authors mailing lists and I have a lot of online friends, I think at one point in time I was running around 200 or so emails a day just responding to various emails ... I have it down to 3 mailing lists now, and still do over a hundred emails a day, all not business. [I can actually remember getting the Rialto as emails, back when I had a usenet provider that offered that as an option, that was over a thousand posts a day back then]
