  • Why did I get a zero?

I was grading papers this week, and discovered a student had turned in the wrong assignment. I wrote, "This is the wrong assignment. Turn in the correct assignment so I can give it a grade." I then gave it a 0, because 0's catch people's attention in a way just writing comments doesn't. I returned papers last night.

Email from student today: "Why did I get a 0? The paper met all the guidelines and was long enough rabble rabble."

I wrote back, "Did you actually read my comments?"

    I know it's a bit much asking a student to read, but. . . .

Well, it proves your point if nothing else... Anyone else taking a bet that they don't read this latest comment either?

Student may not have even read the correct assignment right, either....probably why she turned the wrong one in.

What grade/year of college/other school is this in?
Eh, one day I'll have something useful here. Until then, have a cookie or two.
