  • I lost my glasses and its your fault

I work at a supermarket as a supervisor for the cashiers,im collecting the baskets and putting them in there spot and i go back to the service desk and 2 mins later this guy comes up to me

    SC-Sucky Customer
    Me-me

SC- Excuse me,i handed you a basket and i left my glasses in it. Did you see them?
Me- Na sorry mate i didn't see any glasses

( I go over to the baskets and and look at everyone in the pile and dont find anything)

Me- I cant find them, a customer might have pick up the basket and not noticed and they might be in the shop still. If you leave your name and number i will call you if they show up.

SC- I just dont understand how you didn't notice them in there, didn't you hear them rattle
Me- Im really sorry sir but i didn't notice anything,i will give you a call if they turn up

(He walks away and start looking through everyones baskets and then leaves)

(10 mins before the shop is closing and im running around tryin to get everything done he comes in again)

    SC-did you find them?
    Me- no sir,im sorry i didn't
SC- I cant understand how you didn't notice them in there. Dont you look if there's anything in the baskets before you put them away
Me-Well i work quickly and its been busy tonight so i was doing things very fast
SC-It wasn't busy at the time
Me- I really cant remember when it was but i had alot to do tonight
Sc-but you would have heard it rattle in there,i cant understand this, can i look at your cameras(closing time)
Me-Sir i really dont think im responsible for you leaving your items in the basket and we have to close up now,im sorry there is nothing i can do.

    (he walks out the door)

I prob didn't even take the basket from him or he prob left them at home.

I get customers that call or come in asking if anybody has turned in any sunglasses. I had a lady stop by every day for a week asking if anybody found her sunglasses yet.

Any sunglasses found are put in a box at the service desk and kept for a month before we get rid of them. Some people get mad when they have not turned up. It is not my fault you left them on a rack and somebody else came along and took them

Oh, you ever find a lost cell phone or something, and someone comes-up and says "hey I just lost my cell phone" and they perfectly describe it, you hand it over, and then 10 min later ANOTHER person comes looking for that same one?

I hate that scam. But what are you going to do when they describe it?

In these cases I would ask them the number and call it from another phone, it the phone rings, I would hand it over. If they dont know the number, I wouldn't give it to them. Or I would ask them names in the adress book.
"When did you get a gold plated toilet?"
"We don't have a gold plated toilet"
"Oh dear, I think I just peed in your Tuba"

I could only name the contacts. When it comes to my phone number, I'm JUST remembering it. Though I can tell you exactly what my wallpapers both are
            Look, a signature!

If every cashier in the world went on strike, retail would come to a screeching halt, even if for a couple hours.

I can't really remember my own cell phone number, either. But it's 1 digit different from my brother's since we got ours at the same time and did that on purpose.

Are we surprised? Are any of us even remotely surprised that he never even took them into the store?

                    No?

                    As I thought.

Yep. If you're not gonna wear 'em then don't take them with you. If you only need them to drive, but not shop you should just deal with the inconvinience of wearing them as you shop as well.
