  • VIP Line

Oh man my company has really done something stupid. We are running skeleton crew and they decided to have a line for VIP's. It's RIGHT next to the original line, close to the ATM and we've already had tons of people who just stand there cuz they're too dumb to see the real line.

We are supposed to tell the people in line: Sorry, we have to assit the VIP line FIRST, regardless that they just walked up, or that half of them are lying or the fact that you've been standing there for longer. WTF are they thinking!?

I get it, its cool to pass up a line BUT not when there are only one or two cashiers at a time. And sometimes we're by ourselves on a busy day. Dumbest idea EVER.

It was slammed and I was by myself. I saw these two old ladies get OUT of line and stand to the side NEAR the VIP line. I just thought they left until...

SC: What is the POINT of this freaking line anyway!?

I didn't realize they had stepped out of the line they were already in and wanted to be helped NOW. Funny had they just stayed in line they would've been helped next and faster. I got so pissed I went back and made a supervisor help them.

It really does cause issues. Makes the already stressful day even worse. Dumbasses! Its at the buffet, Players card place and the cage. Its nice for the big rich bitches but makes us feel like crap when we have to pull one of them infront of a HUGE line.

Important but idiotic at the same time. If we had more people it wouldn't be an issue. I am happy they're spending money and paying my paycheck but I wish it was easier. Sorry I'm whiney I've had a bad couple of days.

Nah your not being whiny. It being a casino I can understand why they would want to give VIPs special treatment I mean hell they drop more money it makes sense they are a quantifiable value. But then what they need to do is put it somewhere else so that you aren't getting that confusion and so people don't see that others are getting better treatment are.

It doesn't make people want to spend more money in your casino it just breeds resentment.

            V is for Vacuous

            and P is for P***k.

In any case, at a casino in particular, I think they would WANT the huddled masses to see that the high rollers are getting treated better, in hopes of getting the low rollers to spend more and eventually get the niftier line...

Jack is probably right about the ACTUAL effect, however.

I do see the idea they have where they'd like the people who spend a buttload of money to feel like they're getting something for their money but it makes everybody else who I think are just as important feel like crap.

Check this out-- If a cocktail waitress is serving the top card she asks for the expensive liquor but if they're not they get the cheap. That was in our class.

But if we had more people it wouldn't be such an issue. Or the fact that its confusing to know which line to be in. And for the most part the cards have expiration dates and they get re-analyzed like every twenty four hours so their status changes yet they kept they keep the same cards or lie that they "left them in the machine."

I guess I am just really bad at confrontation and hate telling the others that they're not as important even though they are contributing but not as much. But they still matter. Its hard to explain but I feel like a total bastard when I pull the priority card members to my window. Its hard since people just rush into your window and what can you do? Tell them to get out or step to the side? I don't know I just feel rotten about it.

It's not the VIP's fault, its the casino's concept of wanting to do more but with less staff and thats the problem.
