    landed the best job ever
    Some people might disagree.

I would be one of them.

After all, my job is on a tropical island paradise where I get people drunk for a living AND where I have access to about 160 different rums.

My job, it doth not suck!

I would hope any "fangirls" would at least have the decency to engage me in conversation!
Well, if she comes back and says "Play Misty for me", run far, far away.

I know that's a movie. I even know it's a Clint Eastwood movie. And I am a Clint Eastwood fan. But having never actually seen the movie, I don't quite get the reference.....

Okay fine I landed the best job in this area.

*bragging* I get 3 weeks paid (that's right get paid to take time off) vacation, paid holidays, comprehensive insurance. And once a year they give us a free turkey (or equivalent gift card)

I would be down there in a heartbeat but my little girl is one hell of a reason to stick around.

For me though I got the best deal going here I have never had it so good.

            And match!

No arguments with any of the above. Touche, my friend, touche.

Short summary: The mom from Arrested Development stalks the hell of out Clint Eastwood (who happens to play a radio DJ, but the first meeting in person is at a bar).

And I really didn't do a thing for her!
Well, it's possible that your pledge to make her day better actually was enough to make her day better. *shrug* Who knows.

"Cranberry juice" + "a terrible day" = "UTI"
That was my first thought, too.

If I ever make my way down there, I'll be sure to pipe up. Of course, getting me to stop talking is another matter entirely.
                Quoth Jester View Post
By the way, those of you that said she might be needing the cranberry juice for a UTI make sense, other than one thing: while she paid for five cranberry juices, she didn't even finish her first.
I thought that was really odd, too.

But it's possible that something came up and she had to leave.

Then again, I don't think I could face drinking even one cranberry juice, myself...

The local sheriff's office is directly across the street (on a hill, two traffic lanes, one turn lane, parking both sides, US22) from the courthouse. They often escort prisoners across the road, frequently in shackles, rather than walk 100 feet in either direction to marked crosswalks with traffic lights.

Only 3 weeks?? I got 4 right from the day I started.... Plus working out of a home office and I have a company car and gas card.

About 3 some years ago, before I had heard of this site and my wife was in the navy - she had orders to go to Key West... Ended up getting screwed out of that...

I don't think there is any job that can beat something so laid back and in such a nice climate.... Damnit it is a whopping 15 degrees here.... and there is about 4 inches of white crap on the ground. At 9 AM it was -4. BRRRRRRRRRR.

There are many coprorations where they act as if they're being *generous* just for giving you two weeks a year. Four right off the bat? o_o Kickass.

One of the downsides of working where I work is I get zero paid leave, vacation, etc. Nothing. If I take off, I am making squat. Which makes my vacations that much harder to take, and that much more precious to me.

Not to rub it in, but today I shall go to work in a t-shirt and shorts. Not only is that the uniform, but I will be perfectly comfortable walking from my apartment to my truck, and from my truck to the bar. It's beautiful here. Now....what were you saying about paid vacation......

I admit I got lucky to get this job - there are only 2 people in the state with this company. I can count on my fingers the number of times I have actually seen my manager. I am about 4 hours away from the other in state employee, and my manager and the supervisor live in a bordering state. Very nice job. And the best way to keep the bosses happy is to get things taken care of quickly. My state has 93 counties and we have equipment in every single one, 2 counties with multiple sites. Depending on site we have a 4 or 8 hour time to fix problems.

The only thing that remotely gets close to that (but still miles and miles away) is that I work out of my house. There are times I have to visit the numerous sites, but I don't have to drive to an office first. I just get into the company vehicle. It spoils the wifey and the little daughter. But we also just another 3-4 inches of snow...

It's not quite that nice over here on the other coast, but then, we also don't get ice storms or much in the way of hurricanes over here, so I'll live with the mid-50's rainy weather for a bit.
