  • You should be ashamed!!

So I bend over backwards for my customers even when it means my stats suck and I am gonna get lectured by my boss I work my butt off to go above and beyond because I believe in what I do. (Yes I know idealistic but I been doing it four years and they ain't beat it out of me yet.)

Yesterday I found out that apparently if you work for any company that has Corporation anywhere in the name you are automatically evil blood sucking bastards who don't care about the customers.

Yesterday was a good day I saved no less than three customers money and lowered their bills. Then I get, "you should be ashamed girl"

The utility commission has determined we are only allowed to help customer's up to a certain point because if we help them anymore than that their bill accrues more debt and they will have more debt than they can reasonably be expected to handle. Thus we have policies to protect the customer form incurring gobs of debt.

SC owes around 300 odd dollars. She only has to pay half of it and a reconnection fee to get her service turned back on because she already has an active deposit. She is 50$ short. Up to this point she has been polite and patient the following is when she turned on the suck.

    Me: Uhm well duh me
SC: Awww you gotta love their cute little faces

SC: You know what I am not saying anything about you, but corporations like you are sick!

    ME: Excuse me ma'am?

SC: You are sick you all are trying to screw us over and you have no intention of helping us out at all (She had been on a payment plan). I don't know how you can work for a company like that. If I were you I would quit.

ME: Well ma'am we do try to work with....(cuts me off)

SC: No you don't. You aren't working with me at all your wrong and evil! All of you corporations should be wiped out.

ME: *trying not to sigh audibly* Is there anything else I can help you with ma'am?

SC: You haven't helped me at all fuck you *click*

My mental reaction, Your right I am a corporate asshole. I even read the Wall Street Journal (I do but not for money) and the fact I live my life at a lower level of income so that I can be here getting cursed out by strangers just goes to show I love money over screwing over "The Man". Lady get over yourself if you don't like modern society go join a commune but watch out they expect you to contribute.

That last line is an excellent observation.

Your corporation is pure evil: How dare you expect people to plan responsibly, or abide by the terms of a voluntary agreement?

You mean all this time I could have been PAID for reading it?

Seriously, though, you have just added another twist to the the SC Rule of "No" Equals "Rude". Now "No" equals "Evil".

I feel you. Every time my spirits get buoyed by someone thanking me for doing such a good job, 5-minutes later I get someone saying 'F-you.' You know, and I know that at least we're trying to do some good and that's what counts. All my coworkers however are shriveled, burned-out husks of human compassion by now.

Because as we all know, nerd rage puts food on the table and a roof over your head.

A commune's too good for that twit. She needs to just go live in a cave.

i'm never surprised by the reactions of those who put themselves in these situations, they're always the victim, always being persecuted, always trying to do what's right (??), and everyone's out to harm them.

goes to show that even when helping these halfwits, you're still among the damned; help=complete removal of ALL fees rightfully owed and huge discounts on anything owed in the future. must be nice to live in that reality...
            look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

I'm happy to see assholes like that fall into debt and hopefully get kicked out on the street.

                Mod note:

Fratching exists for a reason. If you wish to discuss the pros and cons of people getting into huge debt and being kicked onto the street, please go there.

I was thinking that at first too, but I think he's using that as a descriptor of the "girl", not a direct quote.

I've always been puzzled by this attitude amongst SCs. We don't provide an essential service such as your company does but what we make something that is considered essential by a very tiny percentage of the population.

Not everyone who needs it can easily afford it; although I suspect most of those who cry poormouth are...um...less than sincere since they seem to be able to afford thousands of dollars worth of hardware. Some give us crap about that and call us heartless for charging money for our product.

But what are we supposed to do? Someone has to pay the bills. And none of our employees are independently wealthy enough to work for free. Heck, most of them could make more money working elsewhere for larger companies and choose to stay because they believe in what they do for a living, much like you, jackfaire.

So do we just up and quit and stop making our product because we can't afford to give it away? That would mean NOBODY gets the product, including the SC.

                        How is that better?

It's funny when SCs rant at CSRs about their "corporate greed" as if they are actually talking to anyone anywhere near the level of where any corporate decisions are made. If they only knew what it was like to work for the man..
