    When customers phone up, if they haven't used the service before I always explain the procedure like this -

    "ok, I see you haven't used our services before, so I'll just explain what I'll be doing during the phone call.There is a form which I'll fill in by asking you questions, which will take a couple of minutes, then I'll check the account information given while you are on the phone, and if all is in order I will authorise a cash payment which you can pick up at our office today""

    Me - myself
    SC - customer who will not let me finish what I am saying

    Me - ok, i see you haven't used our services before so I'll just explain
    SC - well, if you could explain it would be helpful
    Me - I'll just explain what I'll be doing during the phone call, there is a form
    SC - Where do I get the form from?
    Me - which Ill fill in by asking you questions which will take
    SC - that'll take ages
    Me - a couple of minutes, then I'll check the account information
    SC - So, you'll send me a letter to tell me You've checked it? It'll take weeks and I need the money now

    Me - I'll check it while you are on the phone and if all is in order I will authorise a
    SC - that doesn't help me, it'll take weeks for an authorisation

    me -*am I ever going to be allowed to finish what I#m saying?* *dispairs*
    And we haven't even started filling in the form yet.
    Customer "why did you answer the phone if you can't help me?"

    Yo TA. I'm really happy for you and i'mma let you finish.. but the Post office had the best forms OF ALL TIME!
