  • A full day of SC's Long

Geez It was a full day of them today,

-note, I have been given a second part time job to do, while continuing to keep up my normal job. Its a bit stressful.

    Ok here goes

No less than 5 people called to ask about the box they received with a big sticker labeled Important information about your refund.

Sc-What’s this box about. The outside says its about my refund.
Me-Did you open the box and read the letter that was included
SC-Well no but I want to know what its about
Me-(not being in a good mood) You will have to open the box and read the letter inside it will answer your questions.
SC-hangs up in a huff. you can vaguely hear them mumbling well thanks for nothing.

God I just want to chuck the box where the sun doesn’t shine.

    SC type 2
I got a postcard in the mail. what’s it about
Me-well sir could you give me a little more information about the card.
    SC-Its green
    Me -

Me-thank you for calling company name, this is braindead can I please have your first, last name and zip code please.
SC-you don’t need that. I don’t want to order anything I just have a few questions about this offer.
Me-well could you tell me what offer you received
SC-well you should know what offer it is. Is there anybody else I can talk to.

Me-thank you for calling company name, this is braindead can I please have your first, last name and zip code please.
SC-Is there a man I can talk to.
Me-No sir the only man we have in customer service is currently on the phone.
SC-well tell him to call me back.
Note-I know its wrong but I never pass on the message

My favorite one of the day
I will paraphrase to shorten besides the details don’t really matter
This stupid SC has never purchased from our company. However he was mad because he could not talk to the ceo of the company. When I explained our ceo does not get on the phones the SC just went off the following is part of the 1/2 hour rant that he forced me to listen to.
These are the reasons he would not be doing business with us.

On the east coast the business owners do talk to their customers as it is a major part of customer service.

His company only does business with Christians because they don’t rip people off.

He has to talk to the boss to make sure we wont be ripping him off. (As opposed to following the normal methods of checking out a business)

There were others but I cant remember.

    Last but not least...
I hate people that call me and can not hear on the phone. They call first thing they say is turn up your phone. I keep my phone turned up loud enough that a normal person can hear people across the hall. I just hate being ordered to turn up my phone. If they would say "I'm not hearing you very well could you please talk a little louder" I would be ok but stop treating me like crap because you cant hear.

There are more but I have blocked them out.
I before E except after C. We live in a weird society

OH. MY. GOD. You're kidding, right? I have stories upon stories that I can tell you from when I worked in the restuarant industry about the Sunday morning church crowds and how many times I was ripped off by people - SOMETIMES GROUPS - of people who just came from their Sunday morning services!

Tables of 10 folks just from church who accidentally received the check for the two top next to them. The two tops check was somewhere around $25 bucks, the ten tops check was around $90 bucks...the ten top paid the two tops check and BOLTED! They left in a hurry and when I picked up the check book, I discovered why....

Other tables with folks fresh from church - on separate occasions - that paid LESS than what the bill was...not sure why as they were gone when I came back around.

Other tables, again, fresh from church, who haggled with the cost of the check - saying they didn't order such and such an item when I am standing there with the empty plate in my hand that contains the crumbs of such and such item.

I could go on and on...just because they are Christian - does not guarantee that they won't rip you off...being a scam artist is an equal opportunity profession!

I guess he also forgot all about the scandals involving TV evangelists back in the late 80's.

This is probably the best time to remind people not to let this turn into a religious debate, or religion-bashing fest. Not that anything inappropriate has been said so far, just trying to stop it before it starts.

      This part boggles the mind:

How does he determine that? Does it go something like...

"Are you going to rip me off?"

      "No, of course not."

      "Well, OK then."

Because if someone is planning to rip you off, they're always honest and up front about it, right?

Well, that DOES qualify as "a little more information"...
