Closest thing to this I know of at the wholesale club was something that happened shortly after we started accepting faxed-in orders. However, the notice we had posted about it specified "must be faxed in at least 24 hours before pick-up."

Lady faxes in an order, then calls the store to see if we'd received it. The MOD went upstairs to our fax, found her order, then got back on the line to confirm to the lady that we had. She shows up an hour or so later, and gets PISSED that her order isn't already packed, rung up, and waiting for her to pay and pick up.

MOD tried to explain the "24 hours notice" rule, lady wouldn't listen, so the MOD told her we didn't need her business and to leave.

They just think they're entitled to be treated like royalty, when they're nothing but what you scrape off of your shoes.
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

I was in Costco yesterday. When I was in line waiting to pay for my items, I noticed a sign:

Business members could fax in orders. There was a $500 minimum order, and you had to wait 24 hours for pickup. It was a huge sign, impossible to miss. I'm sure some people did miss it though.

As well he should have. Good for him.

God, can you imagine? I wonder what the markup for a service like this.
I believe SR charged an extra $10 for it.

honey if you want a personal shopper go to the EXPENSIVE sewing shop across the way that has 20 staff for a shop 1/10th the size and they will collect everything for you.
Heh. There is an nice art supply store a couple of miles from our location, I'm sure they're more than willing to hand hold the folks who want personal shoppers.

We get the lists at the start of every semester. Generally there will be packs of students near the fine art supplies looking bewildered. We do try to help them, but that's only because it's a matter of looking at the wall and saying "here are the pencils, see the label? 2b, hb, whatever b... what's it say you need? "

I don't think it's the same as the personal shopper people, because usually I'm just showing them where the items are, and they take it from there. We do get the people who refuse to use their eyeballs and expect us to.

We do store transfers quite frequently. This usually involves...one of the managers who live near the other locations bringing stuff or dropping it off. Or the DM bringing it over. There are 5 or 6 locations in this area.
you are = you're. not "your".
