So ladies and gentlemen, I am back on the bar. A family situation has come about and I needed a very sharp increase in my hours. I was working 16 hours a week, now I am working 32. The only way I could get this increase was to go back on the bar. Its going OK though. I do my teacher training two days a week, and then work after that. It is also wonderful because I am no longer a manager, so if a customer does get out of hand, well, I can just hand them to someone else!
My first shift back on the bar was Wednesday, it was pretty quiet and uneventful, until THEY walked in.
A group of six people walked in, and you could tell right away they were all related, possibly inbred. Three men and three women, aged between 30 and 60, and they looked ROUGH. They looked like they had just walked out of a trailer park for the first time in their lives, daring to venture to the world outside. They were OK at first, but as the drinks flowed, they got louder, and louder, and louder until they were screaming at each other across the table. We all decided behind the bar that they were not to be served again, because we were worried their moods were suddenly going to turn and they would get violent.
All of a sudden, I heard most of the group cheering and wolf-whistling. I look over...
... and the 60 year old woman has got her breasts out. Yep, that's right, the fat old hag has got her sagging breasts out for all to see, and is being cheered on by her family. It was one of the worst sights I have ever seen. A co-worker gagged and ran out the back to get the manager. I yelled over.
Me: Can you put those away please?!?!
The 60 year old woman suddenly develops shame, goes red and quickly tries to tuck them back in her already too tight dress. A male SC, who was her son yelled back at me.
SC: What's she doing wrong?!?
Me: She has her breasts out in the middle of a pub! It's indecent exposure!
SC: ARE YOU SAYING MY MUM IS UGLY?!?
Me: I am saying no such thing, but she can't have her breasts out for all to see.
SC: Well I think what she is doing is perfectly natural!
Me: Getting drunk and exposing yourself to over 50 people is natural?
The 60 year old is grabbing her son's arm, looking very embarassed and saying "Just leave it, just leave it!" The manager also walks out to see what is going on.
SC: Well, I think the human body is a thing of beauty!
Me: *under my breath* Well that one certainly ain't.
SC: WHAT DID YOU SAY??
Me: Nothing! Nothing!
The manager at that point told them they would no longer be served, and they drank up and left about 10 minutes later. The manager pulled me aside.
M: Customersruinmylife, you are SO lucky he didn't hear what you said!
