  • And you think I want to clean that up? (kind of ick)

Its a combination of sucky parent and sucky customer.
I'm working in a discount wharehouse place now, that specilizes in grain based baked goods.
We have lots of signs, they often don't get seen, the one that people do read and obey the most thought, is the 'No Public Washrooms' sign, until the other day.
Dad comes in with his I'd gess about 2-3 year old son, he decides to peruse the day old section as his son starts to do the potty dance and quietly informs dad that he 'has to go'
Dad ignores this, finishes picking out his items and come up to the till.
"Do you have a washroom? He has to go." He asks calmly.
I imform him that unfortunatly we do not have a public washroom, but the subway restaurant right next to us does.
He states that its not his fault if his son has an accident on our floor because I did not let him use the washroom.
I respond that I can hold his transaction while he takes his son over, since there are no other customers.
He refuses saying that he's only letting me know, because he's not cleaning up any urine puddles that happen.

And he thinks I want to? Or am even paid to?
    Ugh.
Luckily they made it out with no accidents, but seriously, when your kid says they gotta go, please let them go! And not on the floor!

So as not to make another thread, on the subject of icky customers, I am taking a call, I think maybe the customer is drunk.

Out of nowhere, customer vomits loudly next to the receiver.

    customer - bleurkhh cough bleurkhh
    me -
customer - just as if nothing happened "oh yeah my account number is...."
customer then talks to someone walking by - "yeah I just threw up"
    me -
Customer "why did you answer the phone if you can't help me?"

Actually sir, yes, it is your fault if you can't be bothered to take your son next door to do his business. Being a parent means you have to make some adjustments to your routine. And take proper care of your kid. Jackass.

I just don't understand these people, who think that every store should have a public restroom. If you start to feel the need, go find a place that you know has a restroom. Take your kid to the bathroom before you go on your trip. Plan ahead. Stop expecting the world to go out of its way to accomodate you.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

I've cleaned puke 3 times in the last 4 days and not ONE of those parents offered to help.

Heck, i'd bet some of them would go out of their way to have the kid puke in my store rather than home/their car because that way, they aren't the ones who have to clean it!

        jerks.
