Took a delivery 2 days ago that was paid for with a Credit Card. order total was $27.87
Had the woman sign the CC receipt and gave her the order.
on the way back to my car I looked at the CC receipt and this is what appeared on it.
    Order Total $27.87
    Tip $0.13
    Total $28.00
She actually took the time and made the effort to write out ON THE RECEIPT a 13 cent tip.
MY question is WHY DID YOU EVEN BOTHER YOU CHEAP BITCH??????? Why did you feel the "need" to give me a tip at all???????

    /end rant

I "stiffed" a pizza guy at my gfs old apartment like that, delievery charge was $2 and rounded numbers easier to balance, of course I figured that was good enough because at most we were at most 200yards from the pizza place and I was in a lazy mood plus she never lets me eat pizza on the walk back and for that reason I can't be sent alone. My house in country we still tip couple dollars even with the charge since, I honestly have no idea where the place is but just know they only thing that delievers and i guess that was by accident.
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

Do you have a system on your computer that allows notes like "Do not take orders from this person as they did not pick up order made"?

The tip? I imagine she took the time just so her charge would be a round number.

I do that (but with larger tips) because it makes it easy to scan my credit card report for charges that should not be there.

I do that all the time, but shit, I give an actual amount! Round up to the dollars i want to give, then change to make it an even number.Lol. One time, I felt so bad for calling for pizza on a shitty, rainy day, I gave the guy $10. Also, he was kinda hot. Lol.

So in between when he ordered the pizza and when he called you back he discovered that he didn't have a car? He managed to FORGET this? I can just imagine what happens when he wants to go home.

How do you NOT know how you got where you are?

Please note that the $2 delivery charge does NOT go to the driver, it goes directly to the store.

we think it might have been a ploy to get us to actaully deliver to them, ie. pull the sympathy card or something. I am still stunned at this one

Back in high school I had a job delivering pizza.
Someone in marketing was a genius. They came up with a pizza deal that, with delivery and taxes, came out to a perfect 19.99.
Some people actually wanted the penny back.

You have my unending sympathy. I did my time delivering for five years.

I was generally lucky... usually $1 - $2 per delivery. But our store didn't dick us out of delivery charges. We got $2.50 per hour plus $1 per delivery (the delivery charge) plus any tips. And, for the most part, we delivered in a fairly affluent area.

But we still had the cheapskates. I remember a guy who distinctly went out of his way to announce he was giving me a tip because it was the Christmas season. I thanked him, but mentioned that drivers live off their tips and if all of our customers only tipped at Christmas time, then 10 months out of the year people would have to go pick up their own pizzas.

It's fun when you don't care if you lose your job.

The worst is usually kids. Especially if the parents give kids the money to pay because they can't be bothered to get up and do it themselves. In my experience, easily 75% of kids will try to keep all the change for themselves. I managed to bypass at least a few of them by flat-out asking "how much change did you want back?"

                      That would either:

                      a. indicate to a naive child that drivers get tipped

                      b. embarrass a kid into giving us something instead of keeping it for themselves.

Some kids who are ignorant of the world probably just don't know that delivery drivers usually get tipped. So I do my part to edumacate them.

My local Hut gives $0.90 of the $2.50 charge to the driver.

When I delivered pizza for Papa John's, there was a $1 delivery charge (we got to keep that).
I've had to deal with all kinds of people, including ones that lived in upper class neighborhoods and tipped $1. I'd also have these morons order food and then quickly drive to the store to get something, and I'm left standing in front of the door with nobody home.
As for kids and tips, 1 time a kid had been left at home by his parents. When I asked him how much change he wanted back, he said "All of it". 1 slightly nasty death glare from me prompted the kid to tip $2 (I only did this because he told me his parents went out and he was alone).
Oh and let's not forget the kids playing outside who keep yelling at my car for free pizza. But I got them back. I stopped my car and rolled down the window.
Me: Hey, you kids want some pizza?
                          Kids: YEAH!!!
                          Me: Then go order some!
                          Kids: AWWW!!!
