Visitor Parking was completely full when someone drove up to the outside gate across from the booth window. The full sign was on. I open the window & motion for the drive to pull up to the booth window. The driver does not do that. I wait a couple of moments & then I open the window & motion for the driver to pull up to the booth window. The driver does not do that. I wait a couple of moments & then I open the window & I wave at the driver. The driver does not pull up to the booth window. I wait a couple of moments & then I open the booth window & I motion for the driver to pull up to the boot window. The driver finally pulls up to the booth window.
me: "Hi, how may I help you?"
male driver: "I am going upstairs"
me: "I am sorry, but we are full"
male driver: "So where do visitors park at?"
I give him several options.
A couple of minutes later "Nancy", who works in the Parking office, calls me to let me know that the valet driver here to pick up the university president complained he could not park in Visitor Parking. I told her that he did not tell me who he was here to see, that he was going to the President's office, or why he was here.
She was frustrated, but she said ok, & the call ended.
